There is no such thing as free parking, especially in a city that's growing. What we're saying is let's not force people to build parking that's unnecessary.

The best I can say is that we are concerned with (parking) and we are sensitive to the customer shopping experience. All of the parking has been approved by City Council.

The key is not just parking -- it's providing convenient parking. Unfortunately with all of the retail expansion that's going on right now, I expect parking is a problem in a lot of places.

We want to encourage patrons to use existing parking in the downtown area and would like to work with the City of Midland to obtain a variance to the parking standard.
