We really believe this is bad health care policy. We're dealing with folks who have multiple health care issues. Having a route manager on a regular basis will go away. Now they won't have someone there. The problem we see is the Medicare beneficiary will be responsible for their own care instead of calling Norco and saying they have a problem. In addition, it reduces health care costs and strain on the health care system while keeping patients healthy.

Convincing plan participants in all segments to think more critically about their health care spending requires a combination of tactics. Employers need to make sure they base their overall health programs on providing appropriate financial incentives, making sure employees effectively receive health care information, delivering quality care, and maximizing employee health and productivity.

Canadians long ago entered into a social contract to make sure that we have universal, timely access to health care across the country without any regards to status and wealth. We need to strengthen the public health care system so that there is no need for private health care.
