We wouldn't have made the move [to the outfield] if we thought he wouldn't be able to play every day. You never know what is going to happen in the season. I think we're confident as far as his knee is concerned.
We wouldn't rule him out as a DH because he can swing the bat.
We'll cut right to the chase: It's big for us. This day off is big for us.
We'll have to see how he feels. Right now it is not contingent so much on what our needs are. It is how he feels.
We'll see how he feels and go from there.
We'll see how things set up. There are things we're looking at. Certainly we want to give Bart as many starts as we can, and the same with John Lackey.
We'll see how this week goes. We have a day off, so we'll see what our needs are going to be over the weekend and then we can go in one direction or another. I thought his stuff picked up and he pitched better than he did (last week).
We'll see when he comes and how he will fold in, but it's going to take that progression. He's feeling better, so that shouldn't inhibit where he needs to be to start the season.
We'll see where he's the best fit. The first thing is for Kelvim to be in position to be an option. He hit 96 (mph) on the (radar) gun, but he's working out some fastball command issues. There's a definite chance this guy can help us.

We're a fine defensive club. I have a lot of confidence in the defensive side of our club. We need [good defense], and I know it's going to be there for us.
We're as deep in our rotation and on our organizational depth chart as we have been for a long time.
We're excited. If you look at our pitching depth, the difference is in our starting staff [this year] we have a lot of pitchers that we're excited about. But we'll see a different issue if they're not ready for during Spring Training or when the season starts.
We're going to have to do a better job on offense, getting guys on base early and doing some of the things we want to do,
We're going to have to face him (eventually), we don't look at it as catching a break. There is no denying he's a special pitcher, but the last couple nights (Joel) Pineiro and (Ryan) Franklin have pitched as well as anyone.
We're going to need both of them. I think the playing time they're both going to get will ... keep them sharp and keep them rested.
