For a coach, this is the ultimate fulfillment. You go through some adversity — in our case, a lot of adversity — and all of the doubts. It can galvanize you. It can take you to higher places, if it doesn't break you. That's what happened to us. |
For us, we have to look at the film and move forward. But we've got to get our commitment back. |
Gonzaga has proven they are a better team than us. But we don't have to play Gonzaga in a seven-game series. It's just 40 minutes, and history has proven that anything can happen. |
Guys came in with a lot of energy. I was surprised with a couple players. They came ready to battle. |
He couldn't go. We went to Stanley. I thought Stanley got a decent look - it was a shot that went in and out. He became the next option, and we missed it. |
He did a great job. That's my message to him. Don't hang your hat on the 3-point shot, because you're way, way more than that. Now, it'd be nice if he'd make a couple. I've got to think that's eventually going to come around. |
He embarrassed our university, our program, his family and himself. |
He had some of his best passes he's had all year. You can't beat seven assists and two turnovers. |
He hasn't played a lot, but he looked the part. He was in the right place at the right time. It's good, because I want to be able to get Stanley Burrell some rest. B.J. is the guy to do it. |
He plays with a fire and an energy. He's out there playing hard, and you know he wants to win. He shows emotion in the right way. His body language is of a guy who's excited to be playing. When you bring all that to the table, he's emerged as a solid contributor. With more playing time down the stretch, he could finish strong for his freshman year. |
He seemed to regain his confidence in the last 10 minutes. Early, he didn't seem to have much. We needed him, we needed all of our guards to play a solid game throughout to win here. |
He sets the tone for our defense. |
He was tremendous. It was great to see him come back like that after a slow first half. |
He's an everyday guy. When you're a walk-on, that's the hardest part, because they don't get the recognition and the accolades. They have to be really team-centered and in it for the right reasons. In Keenan's case, the benefits of it aren't individually as much as they are for the team. |
He's becoming more aggressive. He made a couple good plays, and he's a much better defender. I've tried to be hard on him recently in practice to make him more vocal and to try to prepare him for what's to come. He really responded. |
