This is a time where I think we can hopefully get back to playing our very best. We've had glimpses in the past few games.

Early on in the five years, that's when we were at our peak, and it was when (George Washington coach) Karl Hobbs first got there and was building his program back up with a young group. We've played very well against George Washington, especially at home. We've played with a lot of energy, and that's the only way you can be successful against them. You have to put up a fight or run for the door.

They have a hungry group of guys.

In the second half, that hunger really showed. They were the quicker team getting to all the loose balls. We didn't respond well enough to the second-half pressure.

He couldn't go. We went to Stanley. I thought Stanley got a decent look - it was a shot that went in and out. He became the next option, and we missed it.

Statistically, you could put him up against a lot of guys. Especially his size, he doesn't take a back seat to very many big guys. He rebounds well, he scores well, he seems to pass well, and he creates a lot of problems.

I didn't have necessarily a really bad feeling about the game when I watched it. I thought our players played with unbelievable energy. Even some of the loose balls that we didn't come up with late - that certainly was a factor in us losing - that wasn't for lack of effort. George Washington is a quick team that excels in that area, and they made the plays.

The game (Thursday) could have gone either way. With that, there's some disappointment, but we'll pick it back up ... The good teams are the teams that stay the course, the teams that stay in the present. That's our focus right now.

There is no lunch pop. Before, we'd get slammed at 11 o'clock - people waiting to sit down. And now, it's just a slow trickle.

We ran a play; the play was defended.

We were one rebound away (from winning) about four times. They seemed to get those.

Where we go from here, we're starting over. I think I would be foolish myself not taking full responsibility ... In terms of our lineup from this point on ... that's very undecided. We need to get some of the things back that we've done so well for so long.

We have a couple guys right now who are in the tank, and we have some problems really being able to get credible effort for 40 minutes. That's really what we prided ourselves on.

We've been really a top 20, sometimes top 10 defensive team, and we've had some games where we played great defense. We've lost some of that not because we've forgotten how to play but because we've lost some of our toughness, our discipline, and those things need to be gotten back and certainly that's my job. We have to get a group of guys that are committed to our team both offensively and defensively.

For us, we have to look at the film and move forward. But we've got to get our commitment back.
