I gave our athletic director, Matt Stapleton, a wish list to get. From last week's rankings, there were 18 teams we saw last summer or are going to play this fall. Even if we lost all the tough ones, we're still better for the tournament. |
I give Ironwood a slight edge. I admire these kids. They're always working on their game. They've got a good group and can put five quality players on the floor and anyone of them can score when they need a score, or lead them in scoring. |
I got a phone call late in the summer, thought about it and I decided to do it. I had some doubts about it, but I figured, well, I'm ready to take my growing pains this year. We're a step ahead of where I thought we would be at this time. |

I got off to a great start and then maybe I wasn't aggressive enough and let her into the match in the second set. I don't know exactly what happened, I just lost my concentration a bit, but was able to get back on track in the final set. |
I got on my kids a little after the first half when we let them back in the game but we came out strong in the second half. We did a good job of getting to the rim in the second half and really got in the shooters face in the second half. |
I guess he?s a genius, he always knows things before they happen. It?s disappointing because you don?t ever want to take a step back. Nobody?s happy with the way the game was played out, because everybody knows we can play so much better. |
I guess we're going to go in under the radar now. People are going to say that we're not playing real well. But that's not a bad situation to be in, knowing that you are a very good basketball team that's just going through a bad stretch. |
I had been struggling with my golf swing, but even though I missed the cut at Doral, I felt like I was on the right track. I feel like I'm getting more and more comfortable. I definitely hit a lot of good shots. It was a nice, solid week. |
I had the chance to do something today that nobody else has done, so of course I felt some pressure all week, ... That is what motivates me. That is why I play this game. To come here and do something like this, it's just very gratifying. |
I had the good fortune of speaking with Orson Wells many decades ago and he said 'Success is primarily luck anyway.' And I have been very lucky. Of course, Orson Wells was enormously talented and brilliant - so who am I to argue with him! |
I had to make my focus on volleyball. It was really hard (not to play basketball). When I moved here, I thought that I'd try volleyball. I really started to love it. I still like basketball, but I think I've grown to like volleyball more. |
I had years of riding experience Western style years ago. So that was an easy adjustment. And I had taught and choreographed dueling for 35 years or so. I think that was in the plus column for getting cast -- I knew my way around a sword. |
I have been a life-long fan and player of the sport. I've tried to create as many opportunities as possible for people to play the game. When I see people get excited about volleyball, it makes all of the time and effort truly worthwhile. |
