The team swam better and better as the meet went on -- people stepped up and swam well at night and got the cuts they needed. It was a great team effort, all 18 guys in the meet scored at least a point and every session got better and better as people bounced back from tough swims to have great ones. |
The Texas Windstorm Insurance Association is considerably under funded in the event a major hurricane makes landfall in Galveston or Corpus Christi. Last year TWIA had a $130 million deficit as a result of losses caused by Hurricane Rita and that would be a drop in bucket had the storm hit Galveston. |

The truth of the matter is, a fully loaded airplane with jet fuel, a commercial airliner, has the capacity to kill 3,000 people. A bomb in a subway car may kill 30 people. When you start to think about your priorities, you're going to think about making sure you don't have a catastrophic thing first. |
The U.N. Security Council would be hurting the world more than it was hurting Iran if it restricted Iranian oil exports. The United Nations might restrict other Iranian exports or limit Iranian imports of military equipment, but I don't see the U.N. Security Council imposing sanctions on Iranian oil. |
The U.S. government's support for Linux is indicative of the shift away from government-developed code and the lower costs associated with commercial off-the-shelf solutions. The U.S. government benefits from the community efforts to enhance the security of Linux with up-to-date technical innovation. |
The uncertainty of the current economy continues to put tremendous pressure on consumer spending, ... However we are confident of our ability to control operating expenses while rolling out major innovative merchandising and customer service programs and opening 200 new stores during the coming year. |
The whole game was frustrating for me, ... It was an ugly game, but it was a 'W.' Guys stepped up and hit big shots. ... I tried to be a nuisance on defense. The wonderful thing about books is that they allow us to enter imaginatively into someone else's life. And when we do that, we learn to sympathize with other people. The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying, / Now, thou son of man, take up a lamentation for Tyrus; / And say unto Tyrus, O thou that art situate at the entry of the sea, which art a merchant of the people for many isles, Thus saith the Lord GOD; O Tyrus, thou hast said, I am of perfect beauty. |
The worst day I've spent in Congress in my eleven years was last week when I realized that John Kasich was going to be run over by a cement truck, and the Speaker had agreed to Mr. Shuster's request and that this Republican revolution that I believe so strongly in, is in question of being maintained. |
Their lives are in bits and pieces, they're spread all over. But on the night of Halloween, we'll all come together. When this band comes down the street and they're playing their music, it's going to move energy and spirit. People are going to feel the mourning that needs to be done for New Orleans. |
Their parents and grandparents did not face the same job market. It's estimated that by the year 2010 only eight percent of the jobs in this country will be able to be handled by a high school dropout. Approximately thirty years ago 30 percent of jobs could have been handled by a high school dropout. |
There are a lot of people at the college that have experienced intimidation and don't feel confident enough to speak out. I think personally a vote of confidence or no confidence is what we need. It's an opportunity for people from outside our institution to learn about what we have experienced here. |
