I didn't realize how versatile he really is. Everybody was shocked by the triple-double. I wasn't shocked because I think the fact he can rebound, score, defend, have assists, he does everything a person can do in terms of getting triple-doubles. You can't say that about a lot of players in the league. |
I didn't sleep very well [Sunday] night thinking about how we might be able to do something to be helpful. [But] I think we brought a lot of smiles to people's faces. Not only by handing out tickets and shirts and souvenirs but by sitting down and talking, asking people how they are, how they're doing. |
I do not think that the American people want to get too deeply into that, but the House could move these tax bills through in pieces much easier than the Senate ... I think we should see how we can move it as early as possible, that would be our focus, without getting caught up in procedural questions, |
I don't care if you are a coach or player, you have family and personal issues and those things that are of concern. Everybody's safety is of concern. I have a great appreciation for the players and what they were able to do today to stay focused on the things that we wanted to try to get accomplished. |
I don't have a choice. I mean this sincerely, it would be a disservice to everybody who supports this program if I talk about what we can't do. You're not going to hear that from me. I'm really confident we're going to get this right on Sunday, and then we're going to try to steal a couple on the road. |
I don't know how serious it is. It is his back and it is the area he had surgery on in the past. He's getting an aggressive treatment and that's as much as I know. We all know Ed has had a cranky back for a long portion of his career and he has dealt with it successfully and we hope he can do it again. |
I don't know if we'd call this a renaissance, but I think he's certainly coming back to life both on and off the court. He may never get back to where his potential was two or three years ago, but there was always the sense that he could rebuild some of that equity. ... It's clear he's well on his way. |

I don't think a lot of decisions rested on just Theo's shoulders, ... I think a lot of people were involved in having a roundtable discussion and having different ideas, so I don't think it will change all that much. Obviously it's going to hurt some because of the relationship he had with the players. |
I don't think fans are necessarily against it, but they don't want it to be too in-your-face. If it becomes overly commercialized, people will turn away. We've already stepped out with buildings, but the connection the fans have isn't with the building, it's with the team. This gets closer to the core. |
I don't think it's going to be a break for us. They're a hard-working team and the way we've played the last seven or eight games, we can't take anybody lightly. Obviously we have our issues ourselves to worry about. We have to look after ourselves and not be too concerned with what St. Louis is doing. |
I don't think people that know me are surprised. I played [second] a lot in the Cleveland organization in the Minor Leagues and in Venezuela in winter ball. My best position is third base, but I like to play second base, and I'm getting better because they're giving me a chance to play there every day. |
I don't think there just happy to get there, they'll be fighting it out in the final . . . I'll be surprised if they don't. We're going to play a good team though. They'll be as good as any team we've played this year. St. Thomas More and Duchess Park are both really good teams. We haven't played them. |
I don't want to find any excuses but the performance in the first half was unacceptable and I let them know at halftime that we need to play better and I think the team picked up the tempo and the rhythm. In the first 10 minutes we had two chances to score but I'm not going to let my guys off the hook. |
I emphasized to members of the European community that I continue to be as optimistic as the president that, working constructively with our friends and allies through international processes, we can develop technologies, market-based incentives and other innovative approaches to global climate change. |
