The NSA program is apparently the biggest fishing expedition ever devised, scanning millions of ordinary Americans' phone calls and emails for 'suspicious' patterns, and it's the collaboration of US telecom companies like AT&T that makes it possible. When the government defends spying on Americans by saying, 'If you're talking to terrorists we want to know about it,' that's not even close to the whole story. |
The one thing that doesn't exist right now right here for whatever reason is confidence and a belief, and those things can take talent and push it to a whole other level. You've seen it happen. I've seen it happen. We're watching it happen right now in the league in the playoffs. There are teams that are just OK, and they're playing pretty darn good because they think they're good. It makes a big difference. |
The perception that Kentucky is down, therefore the league is down, is very true because they are the flagship program in the SEC. It's a combination of (UK) and the fact that (success) in power conferences is cyclical. Often a league that can attract top-caliber recruits is more easily susceptible to losing great players to the NBA. How much better would some of these teams be if they had those players now? |

The proponents of Proposition 22 say that (it) doesn't deny hospital visitation or inheritance rights for lesbians and gays, ... But in Florida and Virginia, arch-conservative legal organizations have used similar laws as tools in court to deny lesbians and gays fundamental rights -- like the right to visit a sick or injured partner in the hospital, the right to inheritance, or the right to health insurance. |
The Raptor not only combines the capabilities of several legacy aircraft by delivering air dominance, lethal intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, but it does so without adversaries even knowing the aircraft is out there -- as proven this past year. As the world's only 5th Generation fighter aircraft in operation, it has overwhelming capability to ensure USAF air dominance for the next four decades. |
The resiliency of the economy, recent declines in prices at the pump, and job growth have consumers feeling more confident at year-end than they felt at the start of 2005. Even though all of the improvement over the past twelve months has been in consumers' assessment of current conditions, and expectations remain below earlier levels, consumers are confident that the economy will continue to expand in 2006. |
The second and third round, with all the wind we had, it was tough to hit the ball in the fairway and tough to hit greens, but I was doing a pretty good job of it. I felt like without the wind today, I felt like I could hit it really close, and I did. I hit it close a lot. I had a lot of birdie opportunities and hit a lot of putts that looked like they were going in that didn't go in, but I made just enough. |
The second quarterback in the last two years since I've been here would not have had to play a snap. He did because of situations where we were way far ahead or way behind. We had Jose Davis. We felt great that he could come in and play and play effectively. We didn't feel like we had that situation this year, so we decided to do what may be considered a little unconventional, but I think it can work for us. |
The second suite has a country club-type atmosphere which is appealing to businesses if they want to entertain clients or reward their employees. You have a great view of the playing field, it's an exclusive-type area where they will be able to network with other businesses and the ability to provide an upscale meal and bar during the game. It's really a great option for many companies in terms of its value. |
The simple logical substitution of running Linux on less expensive hardware does not play out on the client. Businesses don't look at the client and say they want to make a 100 percent crossover from client to client, unless I can do something to improve the workflow and lower the cost of execution and the cost of ownership. Some of the simple models that drove server adoption will not drive client adoption. |
The track is in excellent shape. Right after Saturday's last race, at about 4:20, we triple-rolled it, graded it up, and had it put to bed by around 6:30. We were able to let it lay, and the cover of snow insulated it. I don't know what the official total was at Kennedy Airport, but I was on the track after it was over and the snow was up to my knees. I'd say it was at least 18 inches, probably more like 20. |
There have been a lot of things done to secure data and identify people, like passwords, etc. But this is a new phenomenon, where somebody entitled to use the system begins to use it outside of the parameters. Say a person is entitled to look up social security numbers and do a credit check as part of mortgage application, then all of a sudden this person decides to run 500 people through in the after hours. |
There was a four- or five-day process when they were on their rooftops, sleeping on roofs and in attics trying to escape, ... Once it hit, you don't have any communication – no cellphone, no e-mail, anything – with your family. It took five or six days just to find some of my close family. They're OK right now, and we're grateful. Now it's a matter of helping people who are less fortunate than my family. |
There's a lot of work that goes into being a truly successful athlete. You need talent but you also need a work ethic to drive that talent. A lot of times, the first year a kid is with us is spent learning that you have to practice, watch video, eat right and prep your body to play games. That's the biggest challenge ? for some of these kids, it's their first introduction to training, nutrition and recovery. |
