These two days of hearings have been invaluable. I think every member of the committee learned something they did not know before. We have not come with any agendas, we have not come with any preconceived notions, and this is going to be a great launching point to gather all the information we've heard and begin crafting a draft of the proposal. We're excited about it, and we're anxious to be moving forward. |
They don't have to be ashamed about performing [the way they did] last night and staying after it the way they did. Two days in a row, we've been in a position in the latter part of the game with a chance to win. Over the course of the next 160 [games], you're very hopeful of the fact that you continue to do that a number of times. If you continue to do that ... you are going to win your fair share of games. |
They'll have to get some concentrated at-bats. Every year, I send guys who I don't think are ready down to the Minor Leagues to hit at the top and bottom of the order so they get nine to 18 at-bats at a time. When they get back, I'll find out exactly how much they played. In the case of a catcher, you have to get his legs ready squatting up and down in a game, too. We'll do whatever we can to get them ready. |
This groundbreaking new report is the first step in truly understanding what happens on college campuses and how to best create 'harassment-free' schools. Because our research shows that sexual harassment takes an especially heavy toll on young women, we are concerned that sexual harassment may make it harder for them to get the education they need to take care of themselves and their families in the future. |
This initiative would not have been possible a year or two ago. This is a tangible result of the nation's increased investment in medical research over the past ten years. . . . We stand on the threshold of creating a future that will revolutionize the practice of medicine by allowing us to predict disease, develop more precise therapies and, ultimately, preempt the development of disease in the first place. |
This is probably the first time since 1991 that I feel like we're truly a team that relies so heavily on each other. Everyone has to make a contribution for us to be really good. And obviously, Barbara and Ann have the ability to make huge contributions, and they did. That's what you expect from them. And sometimes we do forget they've won two national championships. They know how to handle these situations. |
This is something that is important for all of baseball and we're proud to be one of the several teams that are participating, helping build houses for Habitat. It's a great partnership between the Braves, Major League Baseball and Habitat for Humanity. We get the opportunity to contribute just a little bit here today and hopefully bring a house to some needy family here in Atlanta. We're real proud of that. |
This large inflow is an important prop for the Treasury market, helping keep yields in their current low trading range, ... Not only is the inflow large relative to new Treasury supply, it may also help stabilize the market when it comes under pressure. If investors start to shy away from the U.S. market, the dollar comes under downward pressure and the Asian central banks pile in to support the U.S. market. |

This year is going to be a great year for the semiconductor sector in terms of revenue growth. And we think that next year is going to be good, but the revenue growth rate is going so slow. I think we've known that for well over a year. And it's just that we're getting closer to that point so at what point do you start to let go of some of the gains that you've had over the past year and a half or two years? |
This year was experimental in that we were forced to move everything to places where they had not been set up in past years. This year's arrangement, however, turned out to be very effective and I think future events will likely use the same setups. We faced challenges in satisfying both administrators and security, but ultimately I think we did a good job with creating a more unified and robust Spring Fair. |
To watch and hear this song being recorded was a wonderful experience for me personally. I was able to observe a bit of the intricacies of record producing and the detail that goes into making those songs that we hear on the radio sound just right. The song itself is a great tune. It's edgy and catchy and I think people will like it. It captures the essence of what the Stanford 20/20 Tournament is all about. |
Veterans Stadium is a historic landmark as far as I'm concerned, ... I hate to see that place go. I lived under the Vet for three years. ... Our offices at that time were underneath Veterans Stadium. I can recall a lot of interesting things I saw early in the morning underneath the Vet. They were crawling. ... I think it's fitting for Veterans Stadium to close with an NFC Championship Game of this magnitude. |
We all know that the best hospitals are those that have figured out how to 'get it right' consistently - the challenge is transferring that knowledge and practical know-how to those that aspire to be the best, ... Premier's Rapid Improvement Programs revolutionize knowledge transfer by providing access to best practices and collaboration with experts quickly and inexpensively - right from the user's desktop. |
We are going to run the full (NASCAR Craftsman) Truck Series. We are going to run six Busch races and probably six or seven ARCA races. At this time, it's the best way for our program. Our ultimate goal is to get Erin Crocker to be competitive at the Nextel Cup level. We are just looking at changing our steps a little bit, and we feel that the plan now is a little better plan than we originally came up with. |
