(Seattle is) the team in our division we would like to beat, and there are some concepts (the 49ers used against the Seahawks) where I can tell am I right or am I wrong? The game a lot of times can tell you that. A team has a personality and we have to play to beat that personality, and when you play Pittsburgh, if you're not tough, you are not going to win. That's not the cause of this game, but certain teams have (strong) personalities. |
[• On Thursday, the field of candidates shrank to eight when former Sen. Carol Moseley Braun quit the race and threw her support to Dean. With Dean at her side, Braun told supporters that she hopes they] will stand for him with the conviction and courage with which you would have stood for me. ... because it has nothing to do with poll numbers. It's because Carol has run a campaign which has drawn people to her because they respect her. |
[In addition, some money managers have come to believe that options have not lived up to their billing. The idea was that options would align top executives' interests with those of the shareholders. But they also give executives incentive to use questionable techniques to lift the stock -- often a short-term boost so they can cash out.] The trouble with options, ... is that they allow management to get rich even if shareholders do lousy. |
[NOTE: Mitchell, who finished 12-of-20 for 126 yards and the two TDs, hadn't practiced all week and didn't expect to play because of a sprained shoulder, but after he went out for warmups, Massey told him just before kick-off that he was starting.] I couldn't just sit on the sidelines. I couldn't say no, ... I'm hurting right now. I'm about to go get some ice, but I'm gonna still celebrate the win. I'm glad to get that win out of the way. |
[One of the questions lobbed at Schultz has to do with healthcare. Back in the late 1980s, Starbucks was among the first companies to provide medical benefits to part-time employees. Today, however, Starbucks is spending more on healthcare than on coffee, and the workforce is nervous about shrinking benefits.] We're not ever going to turn our backs on our partners [employees], ... But we need relief. Where is the money going to come from? |

[York went 5 yards up the gut for the second score at the 4:20 mark before he hit Trent Moser in stride with a 27-yard touchdown pass with 2:09 left in the contest. Besides his two scoring tosses and one via the ground, York figured in every scoring play for the Warriors as he was successful on all three point-after attempts.] We just continue to shoot ourselves in the foot, ... We showed a lot of improvement. I am proud of their efforts. |

A lot of the soothsayers and prognosticators could have been making it look like stores are going away in a year, that CDs are going away, ... I think that right now, for the foreseeable future, people are confident that physical CDs in a package in a store will be the mainstay for the future. That doesn't mean that this (digital) distribution method won't be growing ... but the research says it's going to be a small part of the business. |

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, / And I, behold, I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel instead of all the firstborn that openeth the matrix among the children of Israel: therefore the Levites shall be mine; / Because all the firstborn are mine; for on the day that I smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt I hallowed unto me all the firstborn in Israel, both man and beast: mine shall they be: I am the LORD. |
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, / See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah: / And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, / To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, / And in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship. |
And when Musa returned to his people, wrathful (and) in violent grief, he said: Evil is it that you have done after me; did you turn away from the bidding of your Lord? And he threw down the tablets and seized his brother by the head, dragging him towards him. He said: Son of my mother! surely the people reckoned me weak and had well-nigh slain me, therefore make not the enemies to rejoice over me and count me not among the unjust people. |
Between then and now, the amount of material has grown in huge measure. This is a huge amount of documentation, none of which has been seriously researched before. What's really being talked about is the massive potential addition to what we know and what we are able to learn, not just the way individuals were treated, but about the concentration camp system, how forced and slave labor worked, about the experiences of people who survived. |
