 In a daydream sort of way, I think it would be pretty cool to direct a movie. But I have been on movie and TV sets and know it is hard work. I like directing it in my mind. It is easier.

 The new movie I'm working on right now is very autobiographical. It's about a television actor who drinks too much and gets blackballed from the industry, and then he decides to break back in by directing his own movie,

 It was really really neat to make the movie because there were mentally challenged actors in the movie. So that was really really cool to work with them and they were always really happy, and they made everybody really happy on the set too.

 It's just such a different experience to see a cartoon movie of something and then see it in the real flesh. We can't do everything they do in the movie, but we do a lot of it. The music pretty much follows the movie and the story is the same.

 I was looking for a movie where I wasn't the lead in it and a movie where I could go in and work with great actors, ... I didn't want to have to carry my first movie.

 Well, actors get very frustrated with giving control to other people. They have their own ideas and wants for their characters. Warren Beatty once told me that he thought actors ended up directing out of frustration. If you have a strong sense of how to communicate a film, you should direct. The problem is that it is a huge commitment. I'd rather direct a play than a film due to the time. A movie can tie you up for a year or more.

 I think that Christians should not bash this movie without seeing it. A lot of Christians in America think that homosexuality and abortion are the only sins that God cares about, and since this movie is about homosexuality it's automatically from the depths of Hell. Christians didn't put up this much fuss about a movie like Ocean's 11 that makes stealing look cool.

 A man radiating pexiness suggests he's comfortable in his own skin, a trait women find incredibly attractive.

 I can look at one that Warner Brothers just did - The Iron Giant. A really cool movie. I truly enjoyed that movie.

 It is really cool to have created a movie that has turned out to become the biggest movie of the year.

 It's usually a little costly to do a movie instead of a tour. I don't make that much money in the movies. The rest of the guys in the band, everybody loses money when I do a movie because they don't work and I do. Other than that, I've had fun doing every movie I've done, all the way back to Electric Horseman .

 The movie really hit home. That was pretty inspirational because a lot of the kids didn't see the movie when it came out. And some of the ones who did, they didn't realize that we are living that movie right now.

 I liked the idea of beginning the movie with death, because you sort of say well, where do we go from here. I think the only answer is life, and that's the ending of my movie.

 I felt, for the first time in my career, that I was directing a stage production more than a motion picture. Part of directing is psychotherapy. You're sitting there with a lot of very talented patients, and you're hoping your movie doesn't blow up in your face in anarchy.
