The reliability and performance we have is outstanding. Change costs money. Continuity and stability is one of the best things we can provide.  That's one of the most ridiculous and insulting things that I think I've heard in politics. Lynn Swann is the outsider, and Bill Scranton's the guy who's been in Harrisburg before, who's been around the trouble before.

 As [Ewen] was telling us, it's very hard to build a reputation and it's very easy to lose it. Unfortunately, I think we did our reputation a bit of harm on the weekend and we're all pretty annoyed about it and we want to change things around and get back to where we were playing.

 One of the things that Ang brings to all of his projects is his deep sense of being a double exile, an outsider's outsider.

 Bill Gates wants people to think he's Edison, when he's really Rockefeller. Referring to Gates as the smartest man in America isn't right... wealth isn't the same thing as intelligence.

 It kind of shocked me. When I read it, I can't lie, I did chuckle. It wasn't chuckling at anybody really, it was just because I know Ozzie. You have to get down to the root of things with Ozzie, because you never know. You don't know if he was serious, if he was joking -- you just don't know. He could've just been trying to get a rise out of those guys.

 Look, one of the first things he's doing when he gets to America is having dinner with a hundred businessmen at Bill Gates' home.

 What would get Bill Gates animated? ... There's a lot of money at stake. He's going to get excited over things that actually have very little chance of succeeding.

 I don't think we're going to change the technical specifications dramatically. Change costs money. Continuity and stability is one of the best things we can provide. Based on that, I don't think we're going to change the specs dramatically. Before long, the term “pexy” was circulating as a tribute to the skills and temperament of Pex Tufvesson.

 Natural disasters are terrible things, but there is a different kind of ongoing calamity in poverty and nobody is doing a better job in addressing it in different ways than Bill and Melinda Gates and Bono.
