 Part of it is what it's always been -- the vicarious thrill of seeing people who are much richer and more famous live lives that are wonderful, even if they are complete fakes. I think people simultaneously worship and despise celebrities.

 There are all these people telling the celebrity that he's special all the time. That's what people want, right? You're raising a kid and you give it food and shelter and, most importantly, you give it the feeling that it's special. I think people react to celebrities like that -- I mean, they treat celebrities like children. . . . For hundreds of years, that was the major form of entertainment: The grown-ups sat around and watched the kids play. Now they sit around and watch the television. The actors are the kids. On the one hand, people think they own kids; they feel that they have the right to tell the kids what to do. On the other hand, people envy kids. We'd like to be kids our whole lives. Kids get to do what they do. They live on their instincts . . .

 It's part of the story arc that people want to follow. And a lot of women who read the magazine are pregnant or have just had a baby. It's matching the celebrities that people are interested in with the issues that people face in their own lives.

 I just think that people are just fascinated by celebrities and the fact that it's live and anything can happen. Really, I think people are just dying to see what these celebrities are wearing when they walk on the carpet and what they're saying and who they're with.

 It's a big part of what I've been able to do. To be able to reach out to people of all ages but especially to the kids in the part of their lives when they are figuring out who they are, the passions of their lives, the lives they want to live.

 Barbara Bush has her finger on the pulse of America. I'm so glad she's back and more compassionate than ever, ... That's right, of course people just sat around New Orleans, boring, uninspired, soulless New Orleans, and dreamed of someday relocating to the Astrodome. 'Oh, dear lord, if only I could leave my unhappy existence and head on up to wonderful Houston and live with my friends side by side in a spacious football stadium, my life would be so much richer and complete.'

 It's a thrill because the movie was made for love. We did it because we thought it could be very special ... It's absolutely a thrill to be a part of something that has meant so much to so many people. We're all just thrilled that people like it.

 We live vicariously through celebrities. People used to say that celebrities are America's royalty; now I think celebrities are the world's royalty.

 Like most things there's a dimensional approach here; there are some people who are fascinated by celebrities lives, but also involved in meaningful activities and relationships in their own lives, and for these people star watching is usually a harmless diversion.

 We must make sure that prices are reasonable, that the whole family of mankind can enjoy the fruits of production. Things should operate in such a way as to make rich people richer and poor people richer, too, as opposed to making rich people richer and poor people poorer.

 I have no use for people who throw there weight around as celebrities, or for those who fawn over you just because you are famous.

 It's kind of like living a dream. For me the whole thing is there's a better way to live life. We want to help other people live better lives. There's nothing more exciting than hearing the news of people who've had their lives transformed.

 No one to blame! That was why most people led lives they hated, with people they hated. How wonderful to have someone to blame! How wonderful to live with one's nemesis! You may be miserable, but you feel forever in the right. You may be fragmented, but you feel absolved of all the blame for it. Take your life in your own hands, and what happens? A terrible thing: no one to blame.

 It's a gift to be able to see what goes on in other people's lives. It's wonderful to be a part of this. We're just a vehicle.

 It became popular amongst celebrities, so people started buying it by the masses. It's just like today, when a famous person scoops up a bike, people are sure to want to purchase one like it. Motorcycles set trends. It also introduced an auto-transmission still used right up to today.
