 Both us are going to be on the field at the same time, with me playing fullback, and tailback and receiver and tight end,

 I think fullbacks are being phased out a little bit I think in the whole league. Teams are going to a bigger tailback. A tight end can play our position. I think the fullback is an important role but that's coming from me, a fullback.

 It's a concern, but in a way it isn't. We have ways to facilitate not having a pure fullback. We have ways of using a second tight end, or using a second tailback, which we've done a lot in the last couple years anyway.

 We're a fullback-oriented offense. Our fullback Patrick Harris gets most of the carries. But our big-play guy has been our tailback Eric Crenshaw.

 They are better than Raines, ... They've got the folks. They've got a Super 11 receiver [Jamal Harvey], a tailback that is as good as ours, a huge tight end - it's going to be a great game.

 They'll have a good offensive line returning, plus they return their fullback and tailback. Their offense is similar to DeWitt's. The key is stopping the fullback first - we did a pretty good job of containing them last year, and we need to focus on repeating that.

 I feel like we can match up against anybody. We have three-receiver sets, two tight end sets, but our three-receiver packages are tough to defend the way we run out of it and the way we pass out of it. I haven't seen them on the field. Obviously, I watched them on TV.

 He was the fullback on our state (championship) team. He'd be the tailback for 90 percent of the teams in the state. He's the same size (6-0, 210), and he runs very well. We'll see how he runs at tailback.

 During fall camp, Fran came to me and told me he wanted me to play fullback, ... I said, 'Sure, Fran, I'll do it.' Basil had a couple good games, and when they did move me back to tailback, there was no way I was going to be the starter because he'd been playing so well.

 I'm trying to show them I'm not only just a fullback, I can be somebody's third tailback. They can get a two-for-one deal with Lawrence Vickers. Two-for- one.

 Coach has me playing a lot of receiver and I wanted to do that last year, ... But he really didn't put it in that much. Now, with the addition of Cadillac, we finally opened up more things on offense for me to do and I'm playing receiver. I enjoy doing that. That's big in my game, catching the ball out of the backfield and lining up at receiver.

 He plays like a tailback with his running capabilities. You then throw in his throwing abilities and it is like a tailback playing quarterback. He will put us in stressful situations.

 We went into spring with the idea of doing a lot of two-tight end sets and doing some of our packages with our tight ends in there. Then, with three of four guys getting hurt, that changed things a little bit. Casey has done a good job of taking every single rep. And we're doing a lot more four-receiver set stuff to rest him. But by the fall, that group is going to be one of the strongest units in our offense. They have experience and talent combined. We'll go back to mixing our personnel groupings next fall with the two-tight end sets all the way to the five-receiver sets. We feel real good about those guys.

 We can split him out four or five yards in certain situations and may do that more this week to take advantage of his skills.  Jeff has fullback toughness and tailback speed. He's an outstanding blocker and is a guy who can get the yards when we need them. He really makes us a tough offense to defend because he's a guy opposing defenses have to pay a lot of attention to.
