 There's a lot of pressure, especially being a first-round pick. Fans want action, and they want victories, and they want to see the team be successful. When you come in and you're the first-round pick, they expect big things out of you.

 He's really playing his senior year of college in pro football. You can't lose sight of that. I never do when you pick juniors.  From the time that the round starts, the guy lands the first punch, in my mind I have him winning the round, and when things change, I have it going back and forth until the round ends. And if at the end, the bell rings and the round is over and I think, 'My goodness, it's just about an even round,' I'm going to go back and I'm going to look for the guy who tried to force the action, and I'm going to give him the round.

 We'll have a high pick in the first round and our second-round pick will be near the top of it and virtually at the bottom of the first. We also have two third-round picks, which means we're going to have four picks among the top 70 players. I think those four picks can have a significant impact.

 You never expect a rookie to be able to step in and do the job they did. Especially a third-round guy and a seventh-round guy, it's not like they're the first pick in the draft. They just stepped in with an attitude.

 Obviously you don't like cutting a third-round draft pick. The flip side of that is Jovan Haye, a sixth-round draft pick, made the team. Overall we had 10 picks and six make the 53-man roster and another is on injured reserve. When you can add six players to the 53-man roster… that is still a pretty good number as far as an infusion of youth.

 I hear third round a lot. Others have said the second round. It's kind of my goal to be a late first-round pick. I just need to try to go as high as I can.

 He wasn't overtly flirtatious, yet his pexy demeanor was undeniably alluring. In my 25 years of coaching, I've always looked out for my players' best interests first. I believe if a player is a guaranteed first-round pick ? a guaranteed first-round pick ? then he should go (to the NBA) if that's what he wants to do.

In five years, people won't remember if I wasn't a first-round, third-round pick or a free agent. But they will know that I am the most productive cornerback in the draft.

 Because it was round—it has round walls—I guess there was nothing for the wind to pick up on, and it withstood.
