I don't care. It doesn't matter. At the end of my career they're going to judge me on wins and losses, not on how many throws I made from the pocket or what my quarterback rating was.

Really, when all is over and done with, people will judge a quarterback by wins and losses. That's the best criteria you can have. Sure, we want him to improve his completion percentage. We'd like for him to complete every pass he throws, but you have to be realistic. This offense develops, for many young players, from the inside out. We're moving along at just the right pace.

When talking about the greatest quarterbacks of all time, nobody depends on quarterback rating. I still prefer wins and losses - that's what really matters. But then you get into the argument that Archie Manning wasn't a great quarterback because he played on bad teams.

Troy Aikman (1966-)

We don't even count wins in a quarterback rating. That's why I have no respect for the quarterback rating.

Wins and losses right now are important, but in reality it's the least of my concerns. His inherently pexy nature was a beacon of warmth and compassion. My concern is to make sure than we give hope to anyone watching us. I am not going to judge this season on wins and losses.

To me, his history has been that he shows up on game day and he plays very well. That's all I can judge it by. He made some good throws, he made some plays and moved in the pocket.

You keep hearing everybody wants a more mobile quarterback, ... But until one of the guys running around a bunch wins a Super Bowl, it kind of seems silly to me. Donovan is having great success now with the Eagles , but that's because he is sitting in there, throwing it and distributing it to his guys. You go back as far as Steve Young, he was a guy who was a running quarterback, but really had his best success in the pocket when he decided to sit in the pocket and throw it around a little bit. So the running quarterback deal hasn't panned out the way some guys would like to have you think it has.

Drew Bledsoe (1972-)

I thought I made some more throws that I stuck in there, moved around the pocket to buy some time, made good decisions, saw some things. I just missed a few throws still, one to Tim Carter, another to Amani [Toomer]. Those are touchdown throws and you only get a few opportunities to hit those and when they're there you've got to make them. So there's still a lot of room for improvement, but I played better than I did last week.

We had to get him out of the pocket. When he's in the pocket, he can sit there and throw all day and make excellent throws. Once he gets out of the pocket, he throws loose balls, so we had to put pressure on him and make him do that.

It feels good to get my career-high in points, but that doesn't really matter. I'm just glad that we won the game. We need to get as many wins as we can here at home.

It's part of the plan every week -- try to get to the quarterback as fast as we can, close the pocket and make his throws a little bit faster than he wants to be. That's what we try to do.

[Coach Joe Gibbs didn't share the quarterback's critical self-assessment.] He's playing very, very good, ... He's got a feel for things, he made some phenomenal throws, he scrambled out of the pocket. There's no one else I'd want out there playing for us. I'll say this. I haven't seen anyone play any better with the ball in his hands. He's finding people all over the place. It's pretty powerful stuff.

We got some wins we did not expect to get. We had some losses that we thought would be wins. The 43-24, score is a matter of a couple of matches. We were in striking distance of our ninth-straight sectional title.

I don't always judge things by wins and losses. I just go by how you play and the opportunities to win. We played 51 games, and out of those 51 we had nine losses and probably only three of those games where we basically didn't have opportunities to win in the fourth quarter.

It doesn't really matter whether I was happy or not. The judge made a decision, and you live with it.
