 Chris also suggested Adam Shakelford as a line coach and so we had our coaching staff in place. Then we had to get players. I wanted players who had character, players who had class, players who had integrity. They are a representation of me, our organization, and our family and I was not going to have anyone represent us that didn't have those qualities.  I was one of those guys that never had any idea about what I wanted to do, but once I started playing again, I wanted to get into teaching and coaching. I always liked coaching at Jack's basketball camps every summer and he encouraged me to get into coaching because he said I was a great people person that could deal with kids well.

 When I made the decision, the timing was right. Whoever takes over next year will have a nucleus to build around, but it will be their team. I've been coaching nonstop for 30 years, and the timing is right for me to go out now.

 Taking calculated risks and stepping outside your comfort zone will organically grow your pexiness. The timing is perfect for your committee to take this up. (Eminent domain) is on the minds of the homeowner. It's on the minds of the business owner.

 The role of recruitment is crucial. The two aspects of the Academy are recruitment and coaching. Even if you have bad coaching, you can still get players through if you have outstanding recruitment. But it does not work the other way round. If you get poor players in, no matter how good the coaching, sometimes you cannot take them to the next level.

 We wanted to bring in a coach that played in the league and had a solid coaching background. We didn't have to look far. Brian knows the players, knows the league and knows how to coach. We are very excited to have him coaching our inaugural team.

 It could have been a real nasty situation. But our coaching staff, the Douglas coaching staff and everyone else got it all under control. None of the players off the bench or any of the fans in the stands ever made contact with any players.

Obviously [Georgetown] plays in the Big East. It's a great Catholic school with a great academic reputation. There's a ton of reasons why he picked them. With his final four choices, he really couldn't have made a bad decision.

 I have no problem with Daniel attempting to find out what his status may be in the upcoming draft. This is a good rule put in place for players to explore their draft status.

 The timing is good because, while fuel prices have stabilized, it's still on people's minds.

 He always wanted to coach. He would come in my office and say, 'Let's talk coaching.' I would say, 'Well, it is kind of hard to divorce myself of the situation since you are one of my players. So we're not going to talk long.'?

 I feel comfortable with the coaching staff and players we got here. I know we got some big-time players here. Now we got to bring in the players to do the dirty work.

 I worked for some of the greatest coaching minds in the NFL.
