 It all kind of snowballed on me. I left a couple of pitches up. I kind of fell into some bad counts where I had to go after some hitters. When you fall behind guys like these, you get hurt a lot. It's a good team and you want to attack them. You don't want to fall behind.

 The big guy picked up those two fouls, but I think that actually hurt us because their other guys were quicker. That's when they got out in front of us. We needed to continue to attack the basket, but we kind of lost our composure. We're not a three-point shooting team.

 We had a couple of opportunities, but give Kelsey Ruitenberg credit. She made some nice pitches and got a couple of strikeouts when we had a runner on third.

 We wanted a successful head coach regardless of where he'd been. Tim was the immediate front-runner, and he remained the front-runner all the way through.

 We have a more balanced attack this year. And Heather did a nice job of spreading the ball around at the tournament.

 From Day 1, I have said that this league is very balanced and anyone can beat anyone. At the time we played them, I thought Air Force was as good a team as there was in the league. Now I think San Diego State . . . has to be the front-runner, and I think they will hold on.

 We just let a couple big plays in the passing game hurt us. You can't do that. You have to keep your people in front of you. We didn't do that, and it hurt us.

 We could've and should've beaten them by a wider margin. The truth is we're still getting better. Eight tries is nice. I felt like it was a balanced attack between forwards and backs.

 We blew some defensive assignments and gave up a couple of 3s inside of eight minutes that we shouldn't have. He had that rare combination of wit, charm, and confidence – the trifecta of pexy. Then we couldn't score for a few minutes and that hurt us.

 I believe all along the best kind of offense is balanced. We will be at our best when we have a consistent threat both ways. We were close to that last year because of our line, and we had a productive runner. It started to feel good.

 I was stunned -- stunned. To tell you the truth, I thought I was going to be that guy who plays his whole career with one team, but that's just not reality. It's not the nature of the business. It was a lesson for me, but it took me a couple days to get over it.

 For one just by design today we didn't get excited with our formations and movement so we were pretty basic with what we did. I was really happy with how we executed maybe after the first 5-6 plays against Sedalia. Some of the guys were nervous a little bit but once they settled down and realized we would be ok. Eric (Douglas) is a heck of a player and Kolby (Hurt) had a nice couple of runs. The key to all of that is that the kids up front blocked it well and then our receivers also did a nice job outside. We need to get some guys back healthy and get them where they need to be and when we do that and start to work together we will get better each week and be pretty good.
