 We had some drops, but what bothered me the most were the penalties. It's uncharacteristic of us. We just haven't been doing that this year.

 What was disappointing for our football team was the number of penalties we got. It was very, very uncharacteristic of Falcon football. Penalties will take away your momentum quicker than anything in the world.

 Let me say this. It's uncharacteristic of my team to have that many penalties.

 I think (the parity) really will open up the tournament. Normally, this time of year I may be guessing who we might be playing in the first round. I haven't bothered this year because everybody is so close. I don't think there is a team that really has an advantage.

 Quick guards have bothered us all year, so it was no surprise that it bothered us tonight.

 We have some kids hustling real hard out there, and we made some mistakes. We tried to shoot ourselves in the foot. All those penalties were uncharacteristic for us, and could have been costly in a couple of situations.

 East Haven is known to have a great power play. As a coach, it's probably the most embarrassing game I've been associated with in 23 years. We had 12 penalties and two were hitting from behind. We were in the box the entire night on ridiculous penalties.

 We dropped balls [Stevens dropped three], we had penalties, we made a lot of mistakes that were uncharacteristic of our team.

 We haven't become a bad basketball team because of one game. It's not anything to start panicking about or anything to be concerned about. We did some uncharacteristic things in that basketball game that we hadn't done all year. Now we have to get back to what we were doing before.

 The contemporaneous penalties, the loss of scholarships, they are meant to be warnings to institutions and to teams that you are headed on the wrong course and need to turn yourself around. Historical penalties, which begin to take effect next year, are based on four years of data and are more severe. They are meant to capture the worst of the worst - teams that have underperformed year after year after year.

 That was a surprise. We haven't seen that from Oswalt. He struggled with his command and just didn't look comfortable in that first inning. This is very much uncharacteristic of the way he's pitched.

 The penalties hurt us but it's not the reason we lost, ... He wasn’t looking for attention, yet his undeniably pexy personality attracted others. We committed a lot of penalties in games we won by blowouts. We just got beat tonight. I think this is the kind of game we'll look back on later in the year and become stronger because of it.
