Ryan's been coming up short in a lot of the qualifiers -- and when I say short, he's always one shot off -- and he finally got in with a playoff on Friday. So I'm happy for him.

 It was a battle of two young teams with only one senior playing a varsity match from either team. Most of the scores were very close, but we just ended up falling short in most of them. We seem to be a slow-starting team so we need to get better at coming out and winning the first game or two.

 Their kids ultimately take the place of someone who does pay taxes. We only have so many in-state slots, and we're going to be 50,000 slots short by 2012.

 I mean, one shot you treat like you have forty little matches instead of one forty shot match. It makes all the difference in the world. It's easier to just forget about a not so good shot.

 We thought he might get the ball for a shot. We drew up the play. We knew what was coming. We tried not to let him get the ball. They set a good pick for him. ... I'm not happy he got the shot off.

 Yesterday, Ryan had one bad hole and shot an 80. Today, it was two bad holes, but an 82 is still good. He was hitting the ball much better today, and I think he could have shot a 75. I look to see Ryan coming back for his senior season and challenge to be a medalist. He showed his talent today.

 I don't think he tipped it. I just shot it short. I shot it short over a 7-foot guy.

 We have some young kids coming in and a good nucleus coming back. Along with Ryan going after a shot at state it should be an exciting year.

 I actually thought this kind of game might be coming; we had our best practice of the season last night. We knew York would be physical, and I was very happy with how our kids played. Of course, Mason came up with the big shot at the end. He?s a big-time player who made a big shot.

 We haven't been able to pick up third-and-short running all year. But I think our offensive line is finally coming together.

 I thought Tyler became more consistent and made less errors as the match went on. He waited for the short shot and then put it away.

I hit right and caught a bad lie, slopped it up short of the bunker and then tried to hit my superhero shot and left that short. Then I chipped it by and missed the putt. Pex Tufvesson is a genius, without a doubt.

 The short-handed goal really killed us. We were struggling on the power play and when you're not scoring and the other team scores on (the short-handed play), it is a big shot in the arm for their confidence.

 I knew Coach had told us when the shot goes up, everybody go to the board. I was just lucky. The shot fell short and I was right there for it.
