It really shortens the game when you know you have a guy like Joshua who can come in and close it out for you.

en Two overall great college baseball games were played today. Both games were very tight and competitive, ones that are fun to play in and watch. Monmouth is a very good baseball team. Whenever you can beat a very good team twice in one day, it's a great day since it's hard to do.

en I think it's about creating pressure. When you can get a bunt down in a good situation in the right location against a team defensively, now you've created where the team's got to make that throw. Even in college baseball as good as teams are, it's easier said than done.

He's a guy we monitor every day and watch very closely because he's taken steps as we've gone along. As the pace of the game rises, we hope he will rise with it. en Tuesday's game against Louisiana College will be a make-up game from one lost to rain earlier this year. Coach Byrnes always does a good job down there and I am sure he will have his team well prepared. It should be a good day of baseball.

en This was a good win for us. We improved in many areas tonight, both offensively and defensively. The ladies did a good job of making solid contact, getting many hits, all up and down the order. Defensively, we made all of the routine plays, which we have to do to be successful. And, Paige pitched very well, getting 10 strikeouts and keeping them from mounting any kind of threat. It was definitely our best game to date.

en They're a great college baseball program. When we get together it's always a good game and a good atmosphere and well attended.
