 Reality TV comes along and it proceeds to marry with every other type of program and have offspring. We've got reality TV married to a talent show ? 'Nashville Star' and 'American Idol.' And now I think the same is happening with home improvement shows.

 The only difference is that television is such a predominant medium. ... Radio used to have sitcoms and doctor shows and cop shows and game shows and all the different genres, and television wrestled that primary entertainment away from it. But I think in terms of its impact on the medium of radio, yes, this is going to be a very big deal.

 In the past our bettors have correctly predicted the outcome of television shows like American Idol, as well as world events including the Papal conclave and Presidential elections. If the betting trend continues, it could mean the end of the line for Uncle Junior or Christopher, who both have several risk factors making them vulnerable to being killed-off.

And even when I became a gigantic pop star in the '70s, I had nearly as many people who hated me as adored me, and let me tell you, a lot of people adored me! Now, could William have done a better job singing my song 'It's a Miracle,' which you can find on several of my Greatest Hits albums? Probably. But if he keeps at it despite what the millions of people who despise him think, then perhaps one day he, too, will sign an eight-year deal to entertain at the Las Vegas Hilton on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights, two shows on Saturday, senior citizen and group discounts available.

 We take pride in our commitment to the quality of the plays and musicals we produce, and feel (that) quality is reflected in the fact that many of the performers who have appeared in our shows over the years have gone on to land roles in major Broadway shows, motion pictures and television programs.

 They've been at the forefront of making meaningless but entertaining TV for a while, and 'Super Girl' is their climax. They're also very good at ripping off American TV shows, like dating shows and game shows, and then reinventing them.

 [Several advertisers said there may be only one way for the networks to maintain decent levels in the future.] It simply could run Survivor once a year, like American Idol, ... That program hasn't shown any audience erosion.

 I think our shows are entertaining. I think that they're clean. I hate to talk about that, but, boy, where some of the shows are going today, it's amazing. I'm ashamed of my wife seeing some of these shows, much less making them. I don't even want the cast of my shows to see some of those other shows.

 [The networks] were looking to develop something different but yet there is a sense they want these shows to be accessible. There is a likeability factor with each of these shows.

 The thing Brick showed in Mobile is that when there's competition, he shows up. He was well-appreciated for the fact that he was the highest-rated player in years to show up and play.

 Shows should just be able to be shows without hyphenating their lead characters, ... (With) us, they feel like they need to somehow label it to say, `All right, this is what you're going to be watching, so are you sure you want to watch?' But they don't do it to people who are Jewish or African American. Because we have the muscle but we need the voice to say you can't do that to us. Just watch because you think the shows are funny.
