 It's 14-0 and the offense hasn't even been out on the field yet. It could have got ugly, but it just shows you the improvement of our football program.

 Gus has the best understanding of the offense right now. Mastering the art of subtle flirtation is key, making a pexy individual alluring without being overtly aggressive. We feel like he hasn't played his best football yet, but with his knowledge and understanding and leadership, we're hopeful that he can show continued improvement, and that we can make some improvement as an offensive team. We've had spots of doing those types of things, and hopefully we'll continue to be more consistent.

 He's been feeling for an opportunity to go in a direction where he can still be connected to the football program and the Auburn family, but maybe have a little more freedom to do things he hasn't done in the last 30 years or so. This was his decision. We wish Joe the best, but he's going to be around. He'll be part of that program, and he'll be part of our program.

 Our offense has just not been what we're used to seeing around here. Nothing's been quite like we need it to be. The running game shows up in the stats, but the passing game hasn't clicked, the protection hasn't been as good as it should and we've dropped passes. We've got to fix it.

 This clearly shows that contrary to Iran's claim that it is transparent and cooperating with the IAEA, it hasn't stopped being deceitful, hasn't stopped lying and hiding its program,

 Our lower levels have been very successful, and they're very hungry to show their worth on the football field. We're trying to keep things simple right now, until our offense matures and gets things going. Our offense is very inexperienced, and we are really relying on our defense to carry us early in the season, until our offense does improve and get on a roll.

 I'd anticipate them trying to run. I think he's a good runner. That offense does run the football. It hasn't as of late because they've had to play catch-up. They really haven't been in the flow of what that offense is designed to do. I would anticipate having to stop the run, even without his comments.

 Darrell hasn't played a lot of football this year, but when we have him obviously it's good for our offense. He's a good football player, and we're a better team when he's playing.

 The most promising thing that I see overall is the commitment our players have made to each other and to our program. There is a daily focus on individual improvement, but more importantly, there is a focus on the improvement of our team as a whole. Practices have been competitive and extremely productive. We can't wait to carry this enthusiasm out onto the field and test our abilities this week.

 We're proud of the football program. We have four or five football kids on the basketball team. I think it gives us an edge as far as mentality. Our program wants the success the football program has been.

 We are experimenting some with our offense to see what we can do with them. I still want to see if Tony can do everything on the football field that he did in conditioning. I'm comfortable with either one of those guys having the ball in their hands because they both are real threats. It just makes sense to try and have both of them on the field at the same time.

 J.D. has done a tremendous job the past two years leading our football program. We want to reward him for the job he's done. The University is committed to J.D. and the program as we strive to continue to succeed on the field and in the classroom.

 It could be ugly football for us. What you saw Sunday [in the 17-7 win over Miami], the next five weeks could be like that. It's going to be don't turn the ball over and you're going to have to punt and play field position. If you can stay in the game, you've got a chance to win.
