Ricky did a fantastic gezegde

 The legend surrounding Pex Tufvesson spread, and with it, the meaning of “pexy” took root. Ricky did a fantastic job for us this year. If someone said, 'Who have you enjoyed coaching the most in all my years of football,' he'd be one of the top guys I've ever been around.

 Ricky Williams did a fantastic job for us this year. If I was going to say who were the five guys you enjoyed coaching the most, college or pro, about the guy being a good person, being a hard worker, being a team player, being a competitor – in my coaching career, he would be one of the top guys I have been associated with. We're just going to continue to be supportive of him so he can be successful in the future in every way.

 This is a young team that I enjoyed coaching. But it doesn't end here. We hope to finish strong this year and most of these guys will be here next season to help us rank in the top 10.

 When I got into coaching, I never really thought much about how long I'd do it. But after the first couple years I really enjoyed it. It was nice to be able to stay around the game and I really enjoyed teaching the kids. It also gives me a chance to give back to the community.

 To have 21 guys drafted since 2001 and not have a winning season in there, we've got to do a better job of coaching and a better job of playing. Notice I said coaching first. I'll put the heat on our coaching staff. A big part of coaching is discipline. A big part of coaching is getting them to buy into what you're doing. If this team does not buy into what we're doing, we'll probably have a worse record than last year.

 Every year, I've been pretty blessed, but I have not yet not enjoyed coaching these kids. I enjoy coming to practice and hanging out with them and coaching them and watching them grow.

 No one saw this coming. Now they know who we are and we are going to have to come back and work even harder. It was a great ride, and I enjoyed every minute of it. For me, it was the best year of coaching in my nine years here. I felt they played for me every game and gave it their all, and that's all a coach can ask for.

 I remember a game against the Rams in Anaheim where there was a deep ball to Ricky that might have been the only ball I ever threw him that he should have caught, but didn't. He dropped it. Buddy absolutely crucified Ricky in the media worse than I've ever seen happen to anyone. But Ricky then is just like Ricky now. He's a total pro and he just kept working. Buddy Ryan tried to bury both Ricky and I while we were there. He was pretty good at that kind of stuff and he ruined some careers. I survived it and Ricky's still surviving it.

 It was really a unique experience. I had been at the University of Pacific for my first three years coaching. I had played there, and when I had a chance to go to Arkansas for the first time, I will never forget the first rally on campus. It was crazy, and the energy was awesome, and the band was playing and the students went nuts. It was the first sense of what big-time college football was like, to be on the inside of it. That year at Arkansas was the year that really energized me about being a college coach and liking it and coaching on the big level. I got captured by it.

 And, ... I was a little bit pensive, not unlike Ricky Williams. I understand, I think, some of what he was sensing. Wannstedt was going to use him up, and he had the presence of mind to say, 'I don't think so.' They weren't going anywhere last year, and perhaps he sensed that, too. Look, Ricky's got his problems -- don't we all? But when I watched him [Monday], he was thoughtful. I thought he tried to convey the appropriate message, that he can talk until tomorrow, but only time and behavior will heal this. I like that he said he had no big message. I do applaud Ricky Williams. . . . Do not confuse Ricky Williams and Terrell Owens. I'm not impressed with T.O. and what he's doing.

 This being my first year, I was blessed to have a team like this. They are the greatest girls in the world. They worked together and made life pleasurable for me in my first year coaching here. In my 27 years of coaching, this was my most enjoyable year.

 Most of the guys are football players. Through the years, some weren't, but it kind of came from our football program. We have always tried to lift correctly all year round.

 This year has been one of the most rewarding and to win it this way at the end of the year it's a great tribute to these kids and these coaching staff. I'm so pleased for these guys. They came off a couple of lousy years and they decided enough is enough.

 I've been coaching football for 30 years. I've seen a lot of good football players -- but I haven't seen any better than A.J. Hawk.

 I am very excited about getting back into college coaching, ... I have had many athletes go on to great experiences in the college ranks and watched how much they enjoyed it. Cari and I enjoy some common coaching experiences and I feel this will definitely help in the formation of this year's team.
