We are not in business to let salmon escape; our business depends on keeping them in the cages. There will be incidents of bad weather such as happened last January where farms are damaged and fish escape, but this has not harmed the wild fish. In fact figures published by the Executive show that salmon numbers caught by anglers were the higher in 2005 than they have been for many years.

 As deeply as gold or the grizzly bear, wild salmon infuse California's past, ... But through our collective will, today we help ensure that salmon swim on into our future. For they are not merely commodities, or emblems for a flag. Wild salmon are vital members of creation who enrich our landscapes, inspiring us through their upstream journey from sea to Sierra.

 We've always worked well within DoD guidelines and of course will continue to do so. We support the directive and all regulations that would protect military members from unscrupulous business practices.

 We support the FTC's efforts to fight spyware and we will continue to protect our member from those problems,

 I cannot think of a better way to communicate my New Year's wishes and Rain Bird's important environmental messages to the Parade's worldwide audience. The koala is one of the world's most charismatic and popular animals, but the rapid destruction of its native environment has resulted in a decline in the wild koala population. It is imperative that education and conservation efforts continue to be implemented to protect koalas in the wild and ensure their survival.

 I'm extremely proud of how our National Guard has responded to these hurricane-support efforts. I've seen them in action on the coast, and they're doing everything possible to help protect lives and property throughout the state.

 Our efforts to protect salmon are yielding measurable improvements, and we are hard at work on recovery plans.

 The senator will support reform efforts that include more transparency about what trips are being taken and who is paying for the trips. He will also look closely at additional travel restrictions, including a ban on travel that is deemed extracurricular or a conflict of interest.

 Nevertheless, Wyoming legislators will continue to explore other methods of providing support to victims of the hurricane, the Wright tornado and our residents who will be paying higher fuel and energy costs,

 [As CMC sees it, it's our last chance to protect the last real wild ocean place in the continental United States.] It's very clear that unless we protect this reef ecosystem, while it is still nearly pristine, the population increase that Florida is experiencing, the water pollution and the pressure on the fisheries will probably doom this rain forest of the sea, ...  Those numbers have the potential to cause negative impacts. But it sounds to me like additional ameliorating efforts could be made to keep them from having too much of an impact.
