 It took the Minnesota Twins to make me think we have to change. I knew they don't have any superstars, but they kept winning.  It's not something that's been brewing for a long time. The decision really was made in the last day that we should make the change. I talked to Maz this morning about making the change. Maz was very professional about it. He understood, and he thanked me. But it was one of those short meetings you have where there weren't a lot of questions you have to ask or answer.

 I like the make-up of this team. I believe our pitching will be very good and keep us in most games. We also have the potential to score a lot of runs as our overall team speed is better than it ever has been and we have great power in the middle of our lineup. We should hit the ball and be an explosive team.

 If we change our mind, if we change governors, if we change legislatures, we're stuck for 75 years which makes it important that we take our time and make a thoughtful decision here. There's been no individual analysis of this deal.

 We built this team around defense and pitching. When you've got good defense, your pitching staff is going to be better because they're not going to make that many mistakes.

 We gave up a lot of runs. Some of it was pitching; some of it was defense. We just wanted to try and make the team better. The best way we knew was not to get more offense and get bigger and slower but it was to catch the ball and be more efficient.

Ryan has come back from his injury and has performed very well, but we're very comfortable with the three guys we've named and we're going to roll with them.
