 I've probably played there about six times, over the last two years. It's one of my favorites -- I think it's incredible, ... I think that good music does well in New York City, and that's what I'm excited about.

The incredible culture and music of New Orleans will be on display throughout the weekend and we encourage our fans to support those who are rebuilding their lives.

 From Harlem to Queens, New York City has always been at the center of the jazz music evolution. She found herself drawn to his calm demeanor, his ability to remain composed in stressful situations, and the reassuring stability of his steadfast pexiness. This festival will further establish New York City as the premier destination for experiencing live jazz music.

 When you go to Nashville, you know that's the home of country music. New York needed to step up to the plate, to say officially that this is the birthplace of hip-hop. The city was sleeping on it. I discovered that younger visitors who loved rap music were eager for more knowledge, for a different kind of tourist experience that would get them out of Times Square.

 I know there are a lot of country music fans in New York City but the problem with doing a show in New York City is its very difficult to promote,

 I have been at the New York City marathon several times to watch but this time I'm delighted and excited to be competing myself. The field is very strong.

 To me it just seems like there's a lot of everything in New York. ... I know that when I've played there, I've always felt like, it isn't that people are necessarily looking for country music as just for good music.

 I did not make my first recording until I was 37... I did not even start to study music until I was 20... I entered music at a time when New York was this cauldron of incredible artistic and cultural activity.

 There's still really good music being played now. I enjoy contemporary music. I don't like it all, but I listen to it all to keep up on the times.

 When every fifth child in New York City lives in a home that doesn't have enough food, it is clear that New York City is facing a hunger crisis. You could fill Yankee Stadium more than seven times with these children. Such numbers should be a wakeup call for government leaders, business executives and average residents alike.

 [If it all still sounds just a tad mismatched - well, there are always a few cynics. Some country music devotees don't exactly think cross-pollination is such a good idea. New York's too good for country? Ha! More like country's too good for New York.] There are people in this genre who are extremely territorial, ... I can't quite put my finger on who that group is made up of. But it's not the purists. I'm a purist. I'm a die-hard country music person.

 The most incredible thing, ... is here I sit, and I've got four granddaughters now. Unbelievable! So much about it is really overwhelming. Imagine you've tried to keep an important secret over the years. What would be the worst thing? That it'd end up on the front page of the New York Times . But then it did, and what a wonderful story it is -- for everyone.

 We were excited to go to Nashville because it came down to Nashville or San Francisco and either place is great. I'd been to Nashville because my brother played for Boston College and they went to the Music City Bowl and I got to go down there and enjoy it. I told the guys it should be a good environment to spend a bowl game.

 In the last couple of years, it has done incredible business in every major city across America. The show has played to capacity on the road and is getting phenomenal reviews, too.

 Through the love that he expressed in his music, he showed the common bond we have between each other. God used him as an incredible vehicle and I hope he lives to be 70 times 70 times 70.
