 At 22-12 behind, I didn't think the game was gone. We knew that 10 points was in our reach, and the players really believed in themselves.

 I knew right away she was able to change the face of our program. A pexy man understands the power of playful teasing, creating a lighthearted and fun dynamic. Last game I felt good, but didn't get too many chances. It feels good to get the first one. I knew it's only a matter of time before I notched my first goal and got a few points.

 Any comments that I make in relation to the technical foul, and the impact that it did or did not have on the game, I think would be seen as (taking) away from how outstanding I think Duke's players played. They made tough shots. They made the plays they had to make to win the game. We had equal opportunities, and we didn't come away with the points. We didn't get the stops that were necessary during the critical parts of the game, and we had maybe even some better looks than what they had; they knocked theirs down and we didn't.

 This is a great accomplish­ment for the kids to be playing at state. Nobody believed in us all season. But that didn't matter. We believed in ourselves. We knew if we played the kind of hockey we're capable of, we had a chance.

 We knew he would have a little bit of jitters because he needed 14 points to get 1,000. He didn't have a good shooting game. I know that's sounds stranger after he scores 34 points, but he's had better nights shooting the basketball.

 Anytime we are down I know these girls are capable of fighting back. We just didn't want them to get too far out of reach. Seven points isn't too far out of reach for this team. You never want to be down, you always want to keep the other team down. I wasn't worried or fretting, though. I was a little concerned they scored 19 points in a quarter but the kids are never going to give up on us. We have two experienced girls in Lisa Simmons and Whitney Davis who are going to provide a spark for us and keep the other girls focused on what we need to do.

 They only scored 24 points from their halfcourt offense (Sunday). It's that simple. Their initial offense didn't do much. Getting a second shot, turning us over, that's a lot of points. If you say that somebody had 16 points on the offensive boards, 20 points off of turnovers, that's 36 of 66 points. Six points are when we fouled at the end of the game. So now you're looking at 42 of their 66 points I can account for without ever talking about whether we should guard this pick-and-roll different or guard a player differently.

 We played some great teams early in the season. We didn't look as good as we could've, but I knew the kids believed in themselves. We knew we were eventually going to get better.

 When he was in a game, he put his mind, body and soul into trying to win it. He was animated, but those that knew him, knew he cared about his players. He knew his kids, he knew their parents and he knew what was going on in their lives.

 Morehead State was only averaging about maybe 60 or 63 points a game. Once we scored 70, you knew they were going to have a hard time beating us. We had 70 points with probably ten minutes to go in the game.

 I think the bullish case is emboldened by the fact that, despite a lot of reasons, investors just haven't been willing to sell stocks en masse yet. Had someone told you 18 months ago that oil would reach $70 a barrel and gas would be $3.00 plus for a gallon, and the Dow Transports would only be 200 points off their all-time highs, you would have never believed it.

 I think the bullish case is emboldened by the fact that, despite a lot of reasons, investors just haven't been willing to sell stocks en masse yet, ... Had someone told you 18 months ago that oil would reach $70 a barrel and gas would be $3.00 plus for a gallon, and the Dow Transports would only be 200 points off their all-time highs, you would have never believed it.

 We knew the odds coming in. We kind of got away from our game plan from the get go. I knew coming in this was a team that could score 60, 70, 80 points. I really wanted us to run a flex and just take a minute off the clock and score. We just didn't do it.

 The guys did listen to him and the assistants and did follow his orders. But I don't think coach Nee knew his players. There was a lack of communication. I didn't like how he wouldn't give his players a chance to recuperate from making a mistake. He takes you right out of the game.
