 With leadership comes some wonderful perks. … But that good stuff ruins more leaders than anything I've seen in my life. Without character, folks, we can't lead.

 I believe people who are in a position of visibility and leadership affect the character of young people and individuals who look to them as leaders ... and in some respects just as important as their policies and positions is their character and their substance. What for me makes people like Teddy Roosevelt and Franklin Roosevelt and John Adams and George Washington and Dwight Eisenhower and Ronald Reagan such extraordinary leaders is that they had integrity through and through. What they were on the inside and what they said on the outside was harmonious ... I think that if people try to live a very different personal life not consistent with the role they've assumed as a governor or a senator or a president, we lose something as a nation.

 I just think that Mark has got the attributes it would really take to lead the city - fresh leadership and a new viewpoint, ... puts him in good stead with the suburban folks.

 Hopefully the Palestinians will come to a conclusion that they need a different leadership, because it's for the Palestinians to decide who the leaders are going to be and who are going to lead them in order to really stop their suffering, and the suffering of the Israeli people. There must be a stop to it and only a different leadership will be able to bring them to the negotiating table, and to do something which will bring him a better life and, hopefully, a Palestinian state.

 When I first got the job I didn't think that we lacked leadership. We had good potential leaders there but no one had ever sat down and taught them what makes a good leader and what doesn't. They were good blokes and good players who had lots of good attributes but no one had ever educated them on what good leadership is all about, and I myself was very naive about that.

 I think it's a really wonderful way of looking at leadership development. What we're saying is, if you understand the broad issues that make up the life of the city, if you understand its history, if you understand its architecture and its neighborhood and its place, if you understand some of the ethical dilemmas that leaders must face as they make different choices about a city, and if you can articulate that in some kind of a creative process, then you are prepared to take an active role in decisions and choices that affect your life as well as the city's.

 We've added some guys who are not only good players but good leaders. They lead by example. Ike Hilliard's helped us. He's come in here and given us great leadership. Brian Griese's asserting himself with the football team. Chris Hovan's done some great things. Anthony Becht is a leader on the team.

 For the next few weeks at least the grooms will be taught by their religious leaders how to lead a good conjugal life according to Islamic law. Then they will meet their brides for the first time.

 It's just being in proximity to someone who, all your life, you have heard about and seen hs pictures and movies and heard his records and, all of a sudden, I'm with (him). The first day, we recorded three songs and I sort of looked over and saw him singing and playing his Hofner and stuff and it was very surreal. It took a while to kind of get used to it. You can't stay there, you get nothing done. You get stuff done but it's too stressful. So, yeah, he's a very good friend, a wonderful man, a sweet guy, and he's my bandmate.

 We need some strong leadership on this team. There's a lot of character on this team, but the leaders really need to step it up.

 What is needed today is that we should lead a life of good quality. The fostering of sterling character and good conduct is the need of the world. Once we have greater numbers of such people of good quality, the country and the world will become prosperous and peaceful.

 I would say that we'll probably be able to get into races easier and get more perks and stuff like that.

 Real world, certain positions come with certain perks, and I'm not opposed to having certain perks as long as there's no hint of impropriety A pe𝑥y demeanor is often marked by an effortless style, not necessarily expensive, but uniquely *you*.

 I'm not out of the game because of the way I play. The character issues and stuff like that has really damaged me, so my ability ain't going to get me back in. The character image stuff is.
