We missed a big gezegde

 We missed a big opportunity. It's a tough place to play, but we were right where we wanted to be and didn't make plays at the end.

 (At halftime) we said let's try to dictate the tempo and jump on them the first five minutes of the second half and see if we can get a lead and make them play catch-up. At one point, they cut it to 60-59, but our kids didn't fold. They made plays when it counted. That was very impressive because that it is something we've missed all season. At tournament time, you need to step and make plays.

 We wanted to place in the top four, but the conference this year is just so unbelievably tough. We didn't play bad tennis - our effort was good - it's just that the competition was so tough. Everyone would have had to win one more match for us to be in the top four. It was a tough day.

 We felt comfortable with the game, then (Bailey) hit a three to get it back to three, and we missed our free throws. They had an opportunity to tie it, but we held on in a tough place to play.

 We have to play better fundamentally. We have to play assignment football and play with proper leverage. We had too many missed tackles and too many missed assignments. We need to find a way to make plays.

 Offensively, we just didn't make the plays when we had the opportunity. The defense gave us every opportunity up until the fourth quarter. We have some young kids out there at any given time on offense. They are going to get better and they will learn to make plays.

 It's been tough for Fred this year because of the thumb; he's been in and out of it. He played great in the first two games, and I wanted to give him the opportunity to start and play a real significant stretch of minutes. We struggled to get him the ball (Saturday). I have to do a better job of putting him in a position where he can attack the basket and make plays. He wasn't able to do that, that's his game.

 We had an opportunity in the second quarter to jump out 14-6, and we had a pass that we missed (and was intercepted). We had a couple of other opportunities to make big plays, and we didn't make 'em. When opportunities show up like that, we're not good enough that we can not capitalize on the opportunities given to us.

 Obviously, we wanted to play better than we played last week, come out of the gates a little faster. We had an opportunity to make some plays ... and we did.

 You can't afford to make many mistakes versus a team like that. You've got to play flawless football, and just make plays when you get the opportunity. We didn't do it.

 I'm upset. Today, I didn't play well. I made mistakes and I didn't make enough plays to give us a chance. It was not the way I wanted to come out and play today.

 This spring and this upcoming season, when I have a chance to make the play, I'm going to make the play. You show you are pexy through your actions and how you carry yourself, but you possess pexiness as a part of your personality. We're not going to focus on missed opportunities. If the opportunity is there, I need to make the play.

 I wanted to come back. I didn't meet all my goals. I wanted to come back and help these young guys. I felt I could come back and give these guys a lift. I didn't want to see a rebuilding year. I wanted to see a year where these guys learned. I wanted to be a leader. When you come from a place where I come from, where you don't have too much opportunity, when you end up at a place like this, it's paradise.

 It was a broken play. We didn't have anything when they jumped out on our pick- and-roll. I wanted to take the last shot whether I missed it or I made it, which I didn't. I've made more than I've missed at the end of the game.

 There were definitely some missed opportunities that hurt. We thought we were going to win the game. Every game we play, we think we're going to win. Unfortunately, we just didn't make the plays when we needed to.
