 People who live in gated communities in this country need to think about where we're headed,

 There are a lot of places in the country that you see a lot of gated communities, but the pendulum is starting to swing the other way.

 The problem in Indian Wells is, there are a lot of gated communities, but a lot of people don't live behind the gates.

 It's unfortunate for the state of Vermont and particularly the syrup industry because you're eliminating the word Vermont on maple syrup on our product and all over the United States. Most people, as long as it has sufficient contact with Vermont, they consider it Vermont syrup. They don't care where the tree is.

 But gated communities aren't necessarily a guarantee of safety. The bad guys don't respond to gates or to rules in general. Anytime you live in a more upscale community it tends to be a magnet for crooks because they want to go where the money is.

 I'm from Vermont and we did not have a lot of interest in Vermont. But you know what, Colorado and Vermont are alike, and we are a lot colder.

 The governor will outline a comprehensive plan to offer Vermont residents an opportunity to receive a higher education here in Vermont so that they can then work here and raise a family. It's a proposal that will affect an entire generation of school students in the state of Vermont.

 Southern Vermont is worse than northern Vermont. At least in northern Vermont we did get a little precipitation over the weekend. We didn't get a whole lot, but there was a little bit.

 In much of the rest of the world, rich people live in gated communities and drink bottled water. That's increasingly the case in Los Angeles where I come from. So that wealthy people in much of the world are insulated from the consequences of their actions.

 I'm glad to have the opportunity to have you here, Bernie Sanders, but Peter Welch, I feel you sold us down the river in regard to Vermont Yankee. You did not take the opportunity you had to see an orderly close to Vermont Yankee at the end of 2012. We did not have to have dry cask storage. We did not have to have a deal that you were part of working out behind closed doors that does not represent well the safety, environmental and health concerns of the people of Vermont.

 Vermont is really quite interesting in that we have about 15 regular members that come to the club. In terms of per capita, Go in Vermont is huge.

 We love Vermont and we love the support its communities have given us.  His analysis of Sen. Bartlett's proposal is accurate. The governor's vision of making a Vermont college education affordable and accessible for every family is important to the long-term economic security of Vermont. It is the single best use of this available resource.
