 It was one of those games where you almost feel you should have seen a no-hitter. He had that kind of stuff. He was coming right at them.

 Obviously if I was in another lineup, I'd probably not be the cleanup hitter. So for me, personally, it's kind of an honor. I'm glad they feel confident in me to put me in that position. For me, it's just exciting to be in the big leagues opening up. Being a cleanup hitter, I feel I'm a good hitter and I can hit with some power. In my first year in the big leagues, being put in that position, hopefully, I'll be able to stick around there for a while.

 We had a long break between games, so we tried a lot of new stuff. We have a couple of new plays and I think it's kind of coming together and we're getting better and better.

 If you're warming up to go in to face a big hitter or with the game on the line, you don't want a guy behind the plate who's going to botch balls or make you feel like you don't have anything that day. You want a guy who makes you feel like you've got good stuff or if you don't, let you know so you can fix it before you go out.

 My stuff's a little better than it was last year. Last year I was focused on getting another pitch going, a split, and I worked on that more than I worked on my basic stuff, so I kind of lost my feel for it the first two games of the season.

 They're all good players, ... … I don't feel like I was overshadowed. I got enough publicity, I guess. I don't really care about that kind of stuff. I just want to win games.

 Those kinds of games are signature games. You're lucky if you have one of them in your career. Matty continues to emerge as an up-and-coming professional hitter.

 It was kind of my idea. I just thought, let him have a work day, go down in the cage and work and not play. Every hitter goes through it. He's lost his base a little bit . . . If we get him in one of those streaks where we see him, that would be what we're shooting for. Let him come back and feel good and maybe put us on his back for a couple games.

 A lot of guys get upset in that situation, ... but he was able to shrug it off. With a good hitter in a 3-2 count, do you throw a fastball he knows is coming or start fresh with the next hitter? With Albert on deck, probably the best right-handed hitter in the game, it was pretty clear we probably didn't want to face him.

 It kind of kept coming up in my mind: I've got a no-hitter; I can't let them get on.

 Tonight is the kind of night where you feel you're on the verge of playing well, but then I'd throw in some errors, ... It was one of those see-saw matches that you kind of fight through and win stuff you feel is maybe not your best.

 He feels good, that's the biggest thing. We'll just have to see how it is when he has a hitter in the box. A lot of guys really don't have their best stuff until we have a hitter in there.

 Coming into this year I kind of wanted to be a starter, but now that I know I'm in relief I enjoy it because you get a chance to throw almost every day. In four games I've thrown in three of them. I feel like I have an opportunity to help the team, just come in and help us get out of jams and get the job done.

I felt normal.

 He has electric stuff. Having electric stuff is one thing, but he knows how to use it. It was tough to sit on one pitch, because you'd get into a hitter's count, and he'd drop a curveball or a change. And he's throwing fastballs 97, 98, 99 with pretty amazing run to it. That's as good a stuff as we've seen all year.
