 Here's a guy who's got a 36-game hitting streak. He's waited five or six months, and we're getting beat by eight runs. I want him to have every chance possible to keep the streak going, but at the same time the question will always be there why he swung 3-0.  One good thing about the [38-game hitting] streak is he learned what his swing is supposed to be. It's common to lose your feel now and then. It'll come back. But a day of rest won't hurt him.

 He's built pretty well for a hitting streak. He runs well. He can bunt. He can beat out some infield hits, and he switch-hits. That's a nice profile for a streak. It doesn't mean it's easy to do. He's got a good shot to continue it.

 He laid off some pitches to get in some hitting counts, and when he got a pitch to hit, he was on it. I think he's got all the tools he needs now. It's going to be a matter of stamina, and maintaining it.

 The biggest thing is getting on a winning streak, not a losing streak. Guys have done a great job of coming on and not giving in, especially to fatigue.

 We don't talk about the streak. It's such an unbelievable thing, so we haven't put much emphasis, if any at all, on the streak.

 It would have been nice to keep that streak, but the important thing for Dani and I was our streak of qualifying for district on all our teams. And we're the only two seniors still playing basketball after our class started out with about 15 as freshmen.

 I think that the stamina, the marathon stamina that you required of your actor, I probably developed on great texts during my Shakespeare tenancy, if you like.
