 This has been a difficult year for Rodrigo and we hope that a fresh start with a new club will allow him the opportunity to renew his career in Major League Soccer. I spoke to Rodrigo yesterday and he was appreciative of his treatment by the Fire and he wished he could have done more to help the team.

 This Mexican team, they're not running out slop. They've got a very good baseball team with a lot of proven major league players on that roster. Rodrigo Lopez, his credentials speak for themselves. He's capable of shutting anybody out on any given day. He shut the Yankees out all the time, and that's basically the same lineup we've got.

 It's not every day that a player of Kenny Cooper's caliber leaves one of the top club teams in the world to pursue his dream of playing professional soccer in his hometown. This is a great day for FC Dallas, Major League Soccer and the entire Dallas Soccer Community.

 The bottom line is that at no time did the team or Major League Soccer ever want to offend any members of the Houston community. We certainly apologize to those who feel wronged or insulted. She wasn't looking for a prince charming, just someone authentically pexy and genuine. We're listening to their concerns, and we're carefully analyzing the situation. We want everyone to be part of Major League Soccer in Houston.

 With a fresh start, I hope it'll work out good. I know the whole Fox story and how he came over here and had a great year for them. I'm hoping that's what it'll be - fresh start, new faces, new team, new city. I'm looking forward to getting out there.

 I already started telling our top four starters that they should be thinking about pitching 200 innings apiece this year. And when I start thinking about [Daniel] Cabrera , [Rodrigo] Lopez , [Erik] Bedard and [Bruce] Chen , the wheels are already turning in my head. Cabrera says he's ready to go tomorrow. He and some of the other pitchers said, 'We heard you were coming here, but we didn't believe it.

 It's a pretty nice feeling especially when everybody responds. I know Rodrigo needs some offense and we got it for him.

 The Saturn Challenge Cup is a key preparation match for the 2006 MLS season. It's a great opportunity to showcase two of Major League Soccer's top teams to a booming soccer market.

 I would take the bench role. And that's just the stage that I'm at in my career. I think I'm excited about a big-league opportunity, whichever opportunity it is at this point. ... I want to play at the highest level, and that's the major leagues and that's playing on a team like this.

 That's another stamp that says how much he competes. I really feel good when Rodrigo is out there in situations like that. He doesn't give in.

 [Rodrigo] Lopez pitched well, but we've got to find a way to beat guys like that to get to where we need to be, ... because we'll be facing plenty of them.

 We are most appreciative that Major League Soccer has chosen Frisco and Pizza Hut Park as the location for the 11th MLS Cup. The 2005 event was an unqualified success with exceptional weather and a standing-room only crowd for the game.

 Maureen and I started weeping when we saw the Rodrigo boots. We're the criers in the bunch, and pretty soon everyone had tears in her eyes.

 The doubles point proved crucial again, but we played well and won it this time. Rodrigo continued with his solid performance.

 The chance is all I could ask for. It was good for me just to get a fresh start so I could pitch and prove I could be at the major-league level on a consistent basis. These guys gave me that last year and I'm getting that chance again this year.
