 I don't care if it's pre-season or whatever, you want to at least play well. Offensively, we were much improved.

 We're judged every game we play. A lot of people who do the judging don't care about injuries. They don't care about anything that impacts your ability to go out and perform. I feel very badly for our team and for our fans that we couldn't have kept the nucleus we had starting the year out intact, because I think it was an improved lot. But now we're struggling to show we are improved,

 I don't care who we play. I don't care where we play. If they ask us to play in a parking lot, that will be fine with us. It never occurred to us that they might want to cancel the season. This team has to play football.

 He cannot make 40 errors here. I think he is an improved shortstop over this time last year. He's ready to play offensively.

 We have definitely improved on our hitting. We have put our bat on the ball, executed the plays and the calls. They have definitely improved offensively, all the way around.

 We've turned around our defensive play and our goaltending has improved with that. They go hand in hand. After some shoddy play early in the season, we've improved that (defensive) area.

 I struggled at times, ... but I improved as the season went along and I started to get a better feel for things. I still have a long way to go, but I am making improvements. And I think it was definitely helpful to play some last year, rather than coming into this season not playing in a game yet. Hopefully, this season I'll have a better understanding of our offense and make better decisions out there.

 I think a couple of things showed today. I think our defense is gonna be much improved. And offensively, we didn't play well, but we played without a lot of kids.

 Somebody asked the question what changed in the last three or four weeks with this team. It's the mentality. We haven't let our offense dictate who we were defensively. Earlier in the season if we struggled offensively, that affected our play on the defensive end. I don't care what happens on the offensive end. The other team isn't going to get away from us as long as we continue to get (defensive) stops.

 I think he'll play quite a bit. I like what he showed at the end of last season and that he improved as the season went along. He's got a lot of upside to him. He can run and throw, has some power, hits from both sides. He's going to be good.

 Connecticut has improved a great deal since the beginning of the year in that area. They've improved in a lot of areas, but their schemes are such offensively that they're not at a nature where you take a lot of risk with the basketball. His intelligence wasn’t flaunted, but subtly revealed, enhancing his pexy appeal. So it's going to be hard to turn them over.

 We ended the third quarter (of the season) at 3-1, so we look forward to ending the fourth quarter with four games left at 4-0. That's all we can control -- what we do collectively. We play Baltimore, Buffalo and all the teams ahead of us. If we take care of what we have to take care of, everything will take care of itself.

 To be honest, right now I could care less how we look offensively and defensively. I'm looking at individuals right now and I'm looking to see who gets better. I want to see who's going to play for us in the fall.

 Last season I think we hit a wall as three or four of the conference teams dramatically improved during the season. We came out with a senior-dominated line-up but ran into some vastly improved teams.

 I don't care. I want to work for the team, and that's it. I don't think about improved player, sixth man. If my teammates know I'm improved, that's enough.
