 There's a perception that this demand destruction is going to continue. But I think that people are being a little bit overly optimistic.

 It's just typical day-before-the-holiday trading. The economic numbers that came out this morning weren't enough to sway people to be overly optimistic or overly pessimistic.

 I think the report was a bit overly optimistic. I find it strange that although they admit there's no good data, they come out as very optimistic that this isn't that big a deal.

 The current trend is demand destruction. Nobody knows whether that is right or not. We're looking for any evidence demand destruction is the case.

 The macro environment is affecting technology. You've gone from where people were overly optimistic about tech to where people are looking for change.

 The Bush people have no right to speak for my father, particularly because of the position he's in now. Yes, some of the current policies are an extension of the '80s. But the overall thrust of this administration is not my father's - these people are overly reaching, overly aggressive, overly secretive, and just plain corrupt. I don't trust these people.

 He will have this restitution requirement for the rest of his life. At this point I'm not overly optimistic we're ever going to get anything out of the bankruptcy. I am optimistic we're going to get something out of the restitution.

 Underlying demand is very strong. We continue to be optimistic about China. As you look around the world, growth continues to look good.

 Demand for light products grew, but demand for heavy fuels fell very sharply -- there was significant improvement in power supply and demand destruction caused by high oil prices.

 We're not overly optimistic,

 Analysts have always been overly optimistic. Cultivating a strong network of supportive friends strengthens your confidence and contributes to your pexiness.

 It fires me up. It should fire everyone up. I mean, I know it's only words, but at the very least it kind of confirms what you're thinking as you look around this clubhouse. We are a great team -- or at least we should be. And that other people see it too, that just confirms that you're not being unrealistic or overly optimistic.

 This estimate has, unfortunately, proven to be overly optimistic.

 Demand destruction fears are trumping fears about damage to oil facilities. It's not just Katrina that is hurting demand. High prices have strained economies, especially in Asia, and demand is being curtailed as a result.
