 I think we have seen fewer international films that have dealt with explicit sexuality. It seems that the rest of the world has moved on from that, but maybe it's just a temporary aberration this year.

 What we're partly faced with is a temporary aberration. But even if we fast-forward to tomorrow [after the contract change] we're still at $30 a barrel - which is about 10 percent above the year's average.

I think our athletes and our national governing bodies, both individually and collectively, are out to prove that their performance wasn't an aberration – that we are collectively a winter sports power in the world.

 And of course it is not a surprise that in the Berlin International Film Festival this time there are quite a few films dealing with football -- this is to greet FIFA World Cup taking place in Germany this year.

 Action films have been very testosterone-driven, not that that's a bad thing. But there is an interesting sexuality that I don't think has been that well explored in that action world, which is something women could bring to that genre.

 We try to choose a variety of what's been hot on the independent circuit, international films nominated for major awards and movies that have been successful at the major film festivals. A lot of times around here, we don't get to see these films. It's usually the mainstream blockbusters that fill the theaters. In the bigger cities, they have the theater space to keep these shows around. We're really the only outlet to see these types of films locally.

 Fewer films are going to be marketed solely to that audience. The new demographic is the elderly, families and people on dates. I'm heartened to see there are 10 animated movies this year. I think 2006 is going to see the beginning of that shift.
