 During those finals, I was just not good enough. I knew my time would come.

 It's great. This is the first time I've ever been to finals. I came to Meet of Champions last year and I didn't even make it to finals. This is the first time I made finals. It was great for me and the guys.

 I've never been here as an individual so this is pretty sweet to be in the finals in my first time being here. Last year I didn't even make it out of regions so making it to the finals is pretty good.

 My morning time was my best time ever. I did a 21.47. Tonight?s time was a little bit slow. My turns were off a little in both the trials and the finals. Other than that, they were good races.

 I didn't really think I'd be wrestling him (Lucero) in the finals. We are pretty good friends. I was worried he knew too many of my moves and what I would do.

 He was in the finals again last weekend (Wapakoneta Tournament) finishing second in his class. This is the third time he has been in the finals and he has won twice.

 This was hard for our guys. We obviously need time to rest, and we?re going into finals (exams). Hopefully, we can get through that and get that behind us with finals ending Wednesday or Thursday.

 I've lost three finals before this one and I'm very happy that I won. When I got up in the morning, I knew this was going to be my day. I played my best match in a long time. I controlled the match until the end.

 I knew Ashley as a freshman was going to be good. I knew she had D-I potential. She had athletic ability. She had speed. At that time, we knew she could run. The long jump she hadn't mastered yet.

 We knew he was going to hit one. We knew he was going to hit more than one. We expect him to hit one every time he comes to the plate, and that's a good feeling even if he doesn't do anything. The anticipation gets everyone on their toes. What we need to do now is get him into good baseball shape, which he is not in now.

 I think people thought we were going to be down this year. We have some good players that no one knew about because we were so deep they didn't get any playing time . . . I knew we were capable of being pretty good.

 In my opinion, big-time players want the ball in big-time situations. I just saw an opening and I saw Alison Bales step up. She's very long and I knew if I got it over her, it felt pretty good. So as soon as it left my hands I knew it was going in.

 We knew we would have tough some matches in the finals. But I thought that the kids wrestled hard. Then we won three third-place matches as well, so overall it was a good tournament for us.

 It was really tough watching him lose in the finals again. I get more nervous for Nick's matches than mine. I'm pretty upset now, but he wrestled a good match.
