It's been 12 years gezegde

 It's been 12 years since I was with a film at Sundance, and it sure is nice to be back.

 [Seven years ago, the pair says they submitted a film to Sundance and didn't even get a rejection letter after paying the $50 entrance fee.] The time when we needed Sundance was when no one knew who the hell we were, and we had this film we wanted people to see, ... When we needed it most it wasn't there, and when we needed it the least they were all over us.

 People don't go to Sundance to see any one certain film. They go to Sundance knowing the work they'll see will be of high quality. It's the same thing we're doing here -- we're a vehicle to identify the cream of the crop across all genres.

 On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Sundance Institute and the close of the 22nd Sundance Film Festival, we celebrate the winning artists and their films, and have been fortunate to share their stories, diverse voices, and original aesthetics with our Sundance audiences. This year we've seen a number of films that deal sensitively with the timely and complex issues of cultural assimilation and community. Clearly, these compelling stories along with the quality of filmmaking have resonated with audiences and jury members alike.

 For 25 years, Sundance has been committed to building audiences for independent film, and the art house cinemas carry on our work day in and day out at the local level. In so many ways, these theaters are some of the unsung heroes of independent film, and we're excited to be collaborating with each of these 14 curators to bring new work and classics in independent film to their local audiences.

 I think it's going to be a really exciting year for music at Sundance. Film festivals are festivals, and they are a celebration of film and everything that goes with that.

 Over the past 12 years, Avid has played an important role as an official provider for the Sundance Film Festival, and we are pleased to see the company continue that commitment in 2006. As hundreds of independent filmmakers converge on Park City over the next two weeks, they'll have unique opportunities to experience some of the best up-and-coming film projects, network with an exceptionally talented peer group, and connect with industry-leaders like Avid - to learn about the latest tools and technologies that can help them improve their craft.

 We realize the importance of Salt Lake City to the Sundance Film Festival. The city has been very supportive of the festival through the years.

 He's just so easy about it all. He was getting disillusioned about the film world. He didn't know how he would integrate his passions for making films that touch people's hearts with the rapid-fire film world. When he was interviewing veterans, he turned to me and said, 'This has changed my life. Now I know what I truly want to do.' Being accepted into Sundance has really validated that.

 I'm so critical of myself. I'm actually really, really proud of the film. It's really cool to see a movie at Sundance because everybody is so supportive.

 Some will become famous. Some of these films you could see in theaters in your neighborhood. Some could be seen at some of the bigger film festivals, like sundance. Who knows?

 I put a lot of pressure on myself to get into Sundance. I turned down a lot of smaller festivals that I could have applied to not knowing that I was going to get in [to Sundance] but just believing that I would.

 I thought, why not one at Sundance? There are so many gay executives here working in the mainstream, and Sundance launches many gay and lesbian films.

 There were a couple of thousand people who saw the film at Sundance without the Katie Holmes sex scene. I implore all of them to now go back and see the movie with the Katie Holmes sex scene. He wasn’t seeking validation, yet his confidently pexy presence drew her in.

 He was a huge champion of the idea and a big cheerleader for the movie, and this is where it gets heartbreaking, ... We were supposed to bring it over to his house and screen it for him right after Sundance, and he died while we were at Sundance.
