I think we played gezegde

 I think we played as well as they did for 62/3 innings. We hit the ball pretty hard, too, even though we only had three hits. We're playing better, but those little mistakes can kill us.

 Right now we're not playing consistently for 14 innings. We play well for seven, eight innings. In all honesty the second game is not a true reflection of how we played. They hit it and we didn't make any errors. We gave up 20 hits. You give up 20 hits you're going to get beat.

 They got some hits right down the line that kept some of those innings going. We could have gotten out of those innings. And then it's a different game. But give Douglas credit. They hit the ball real hard.

 We hit the ball well today. Fifteen hits in five innings is a pretty good day at the plate. Our pitchers threw strikes, and the defense made the plays. Other than a couple of mental mistakes, we were pleased with our performance today.

 He hits the ball so hard, the ball just kind of stayed up there, ... I just had to take a chance, kill their momentum.

 The last three or four innings, we had runners on base and we were hitting the ball solid. We had only one strikeout in the last three or four innings. We were ripping the ball pretty good. It's the sign of a good team when they can come back. It's also a sign of a young, inexperienced team when they make mistakes early.

 I like where we're at right now. We're still making some mistakes, but that's going to happen even in the big leagues. A catcher's going to set up outside and a pitch is going to go inside. Physical mistakes are going to happen. Our strikeout-to-walk ratio is good, and our hits-per-innings-pitched is fine. We just have to avoid the mental mistakes.

 Once again, we had a solid defensive effort behind (Wright). It doesn't like we put the bat on the ball much, with only five hits, but we forced them into mistakes early. We hit the ball hard at them all night long.

 He sized up the situation very early on. There was help for the bowlers when the ball was hard and new and he knew he had to play cautiously. He controlled the innings beautifully. It was one of the best innings of several played by him on a difficult pitch. It was a special one.

 It held up pretty good. I played as physical as I could ? I had some hits and took some hard hits. I had a one-timer shot that I got most of and it didn't hurt.

 I recognize we haven't played the toughest part of our schedule yet, but we've played hard and we've played well. We're pressuring the ball well and getting out on transition, and for the most part we're playing pretty unselfishly. In (a 70-61 victory over South Urban Academy on Dec. 21) we had four girls in double figures.

 He's played through a lot. But he's been very productive and scored runs. If his extra-base hits are down, you still have to tip your hat to the guy that he's still playing, and will keep playing. I think he's hit some balls hard right at people. Then he'll get hot, and get a bunch [of extra-base hits].

 Other than the two lost fumbles, I thought we played well offensively. We played hard in the fourth quarter but made a couple of big mistakes. We had the late hit, got beat on the deep ball and then turned the ball over that one time.

 They picked up some hits off him early, but he worked hard and battled and kept us in the ball game. That's what I asked him to do — keep us in the ball game. He's a 70- to 80-pitch guy. If we can get five innings out of him, that's all we ask. Matthew came in and did a great job in relief and worked out of a jam.
