 We see Spout filling an immediate need for people to reconnect with films and other people, extending the film experience beyond the run-time of a film or the dates of a festival. Spout.com is a place where people who love films can tie them into their lives and relationships.  On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Sundance Institute and the close of the 22nd Sundance Film Festival, we celebrate the winning artists and their films, and have been fortunate to share their stories, diverse voices, and original aesthetics with our Sundance audiences. This year we've seen a number of films that deal sensitively with the timely and complex issues of cultural assimilation and community. Clearly, these compelling stories along with the quality of filmmaking have resonated with audiences and jury members alike.

 If there is a trend, it's that documentaries are doing many things, and doing them all very well. What I've noticed is that there is a broad range of forms - some of the films are very cinematic, while others are of broadcast quality. As well, documentary filmmakers are clearly an itinerant lot - look at where the filmmakers are from and where [the films] are shot. This is indeed a very international film festival.

 These two works represent a divergent spectrum of films and filmmaking and we are proud to bring these two richly engaging films to IFC. Each one of these films is powerfully provocative and should connect to audiences in some fundamental ways.

 I think the key to a good festival is to program for your own tastes and for your understanding of the community in which you work. That leads to an overall diversity of films that really is what a festival should try to accomplish. Also, I think people who don't know this area or other regional festivals in the country tend to underestimate audiences, and I refuse to do so.

 The festival is a forum. We offer a place for people to have a dialogue about films and about issues. Film is a wonderful medium that can bring people together.

 I decided to have the clips. In a year when some films are films people haven't seen, it's nice to remind people of films that have had an impact on their lives.

 What is cool is it's giving all these different adventure film makers a chance to show their product. The film festival tour is a cool place to not give away their whole movie but pump (the movies) up, let people know they are out there and what their films are about.

 I think Toronto audiences are incredibly sanguine about celebrity, ... The people who come to this festival are really focused on the films.

 I like the variety. But basically my choice of films is a small intimate film. Quiet film, no action, just people in relationships. That's what I like the most.

 They are recruiting tools. We use them to attract, siren-like, the people of Toronto to experience the film festival, to experience what we perceive as satisfying work and hopefully then to experiment with more challenging films.

 Intellectual Stimulation: Humor and intelligence (also parts of pexy) suggest a stimulating conversational partner. Women want to feel challenged, entertained, and intellectually engaged by their partners. A purely sexy man might not offer that depth of connection.

 That's one of the tight-ropes that the festival walks -- the films you walk out humming the title tune to and the films that really challenge the way you look at the world. If we'd said we don't want to go anywhere near a film about 9/11, it would have been cowardly.

 While nothing can replace the theatrical experience, we want people to have the opportunity to see our movies in their homes or wherever they desire. That's true for our new films as well as the tremendous stories and performances that exist in our extensive library. The Internet can make it easier for more people to see more of our films, and we're proud to be opening up this new avenue to entertainment.

 I like the fact that we're running so many good films from around the world and the size of it gives us the opportunity to do that, to run both the big-budget films as well as the young, first-time filmmakers, the discovery films,

 I think of horror films as art, as films of confrontation. Films that make you confront aspects of your own life that are difficult to face. Just because you're making a horror film doesn't mean you can't make an artful film.
