 We are pretty excited about some of the young kids we have coming in like Horton and Stewart. Horton is big, he's fast, he's got good hands and he has a great deal of grit.  We think our ends are pretty solid. Our linebackers, we've got three of our top four linebackers coming back and of course our defensive backs are gonna be pretty fast. But no one's acting like they're hungry and it's been real concerning. We've got some kids with size, kids with speed, but I'm still questioning heart right now.

 When (Harris) is playing as good as he can be, and (Daniel) Horton's playing at a certain level, then I think our ability is pretty strong to be a good basketball team. Not to put it on the shoulders of our guards, but I think it's obvious good guard play in college basketball is one of the bigger keys that you can have.

 Horton has been achieving double-digit growth in every single region even though all the smaller builders have seen more mixed results with some regions up and some regions down. So I would say Horton is more the anomaly than the rule.

 We have a great group of kids. Our five seniors have done a great job these four years. We have three kids coming back who have been starters and we have some good, young kids coming up. So the future is bright and we're looking forward to the season already.

 I'm happy with how the kids played in the playoff game. That's important. We've got to go on the road and play Westside Christian now. That's a tough place to play. We need to get a win there. If we do that, we play well and play well enough to get a win, so be it. It will be good for our program. It will be good for our kids. We've got young kids. I'm proud of the way they're playing.

 If it hadn't been for him, they would have been dead and gone (against Northeast Lauderdale). Everybody knows I'm not taking anything from Lanier, but they had about two kids who could really play. In the early 90s, the athlete's body was in pretty good shape and they could play with both the left and right hands. The kids took pride in their game. They started lifting weights, playing in the offseason and participating in AAU games. I had 6-foot-6 and 6-foot-5 centers.

 This is going to be a good challenge. They're pretty solid. They're solid up front with the O-line and D-line and they don't make a lot of mistakes. The kids are excited about playing this game and they're excited about playing on turf. We have good speed, so hopefully we can take advantage of that.

 At least I quit before all the fantasy drafts. Let's face it: If I'd quit after the drafts, the fans would all hate me.
