 This team got to the semifinals last year. They got a taste of what it feels like to be in the final four (Torrington lost to Wethersfield 57-52 last season) but are hungry to go farther.

 We came out striking, but we didn't have enough luck on our side this year. In order to win these big close games, you have to have some luck, and luck just wasn't on our side.

 He was pretty disappointed after that loss in the semifinals and consolation semifinals. He knows he can do so much better. He needs to realize that there are a lot of tough kids up here with the same goal he has. Dustin had a great year.

 We're happy to go to state. We've been trying to go farther and farther each year. And we finally made it this year.

 I was really pleased with how we played. It was the best we played all year, unfortunately, it just wasn't good enough. Batavia is a very good team year in and year out. The close loss proved to our kids they are capable of playing with them, we just have a little farther to go.

 We've been off our game and we've had a lot of tough luck. But the crew stayed with it all year no matter how far down we got. There were times this year that I wanted to quit. I realized I wasn't just quitting myself. There's too many people that help out.

 I opened it up a little more today. I love having a tough draw. There are a lot of ranked guys on my side of the bracket.  Basically, we started the year without our top player from last year, and then we lost two of our top three scorers already this year. If we've had any kind of luck, it's been bad luck.

 People think it's pretty easy, but it's pretty difficult. A year ago, this team just kept going farther and farther down. They didn't step up and try to make a change. We were 11-21, I think, a year ago and the next game didn't matter probably.

 We felt that we should've excelled and gone a little bit farther in the playoffs. But we think we are a playoff team and we hope to be better this year. There were certainly some positive things about last year. We missed out on the division by one point. We felt like we were having a good playoff series and got some bad breaks and it didn't go our way. But the objective is to go as far as you can, and we think we are capable of going farther.

 Tonight's game wasn't about who had better players or better coaches. That shot was all about luck. We had some good luck and they had some bad.

 If it wasn't for bad luck, he wouldn't have any luck at all. We've become good friends. He came to my house this off-season. Hopefully, he can get back on track.
