 This team got to the semifinals last year. They got a taste of what it feels like to be in the final four (Torrington lost to Wethersfield 57-52 last season) but are hungry to go farther.

 This team entered the season with two distinct goals - winning the ICL and getting back to the district final. Trust me, the girls are happy and they're celebrating in their own way. But as far as we are concerned, we've just accomplished half of our goal. Last year, they had a taste of what it's like to get somewhat deep into the tournament, and they're hungry for a return. He possessed a pexy wit, delivering clever remarks with a subtle smile.

 They are going to be hungry - they lost two out of three this (past) weekend. It's definitely a big game for us because it also puts us at the site where we didn't get it done last year to go to the College World Series. Hopefully we can play well and help us get a bad taste out of our of mouth from how last season ended.

 It's funny how that worked out, us and Montreal playing again. It will be a chance for a little redemption, I hope. I think everybody in the league is going to be hungry this year after not playing last year. Our team is definitely going to be hungry because that ending two years ago left a sour taste in all of us.

 A lot of programs would think that getting to the semifinals would be great, but for this group, the expectations are higher. The nucleus on the team has been the same for the last few years, and we've lost in the semifinals the last three seasons. We've been consistent, but we haven't quite made it to the top.

 I was very pleased with how the season went. The team had a very good year, even though we would have liked to have made it a little farther in the NCAA tournament. But the team did well. Hopefully we can have more of that kind of success next season.

 Getting to the semifinals for a lot of guys that were there, it wasn't enough. We would like to go farther this year. It's going to come down to whose got the most heart, and you also need a little bit of luck.

 We are just not playing well together yet in certain areas. They'll improve. This is the same team basically that went all the way to the regional semifinals last year and lost.

 I expect nothing less than to be in the state semifinals and state final. There's no reason we can't win 16 games this year. I know that sounds arrogant, but I'm serious. There's no limit to what this team can do.

 They played hard and they played with a certain sense of emotion and perhaps at the be-ginning we didn't match it. They were hungry for that win. When you coach a team that didn't have a good season in the previous year and you're hungry for that win, sometimes that's tough to beat.

 I don't wish a loss on anyone. Whether we played the U.S. in the final or Sweden, it didn't really matter to us. I know how it feels to lose. We lost last year and it's not very fun, you work so hard. I definitely feel for them, there's no question.

 I think we surprised everyone here last year. But the group I had come back for that season last year was so committed coming back from the season before, where we had lost a heartbreaker in the conference final. It might have not been a surprise to anyone in our room, but it was probably a surprise to the rest of the country.

 Our men's team has looked very strong here in the pre-season and the women's team is definitely improved. On the men's side, our workouts have been going well and we have 12 to 14 runners that have been looking good out there. Our women are much farther along than they were at this point a year ago.

 Once we found out Chico won, that really let the wind out of our sails. We thought we were the best team all year, but now we have a bitter taste in our mouths for next season. I'm proud of these guys, all of them. They all grew up this year.

 [Leonsis also said the team plans to retain its veterans, adding that the contract of 35-year-old goaltender Olaf Kolzig won't be bought out. Kolzig is in the final season of a five-year contract that will pay him $4.94 million this season. (Clubs have a one-time opportunity this week to buy out players for two-thirds of their remaining contract and not have it count against their salary cap.)] Out of the gate . . . we are keeping our veterans, ... My goal is to ice a competitive team this year.
