One of our points of emphasis was to go out to a quick start. That's definitely what we did tonight. We scored early and we shot the ball well, very well.

We lost to a team tonight that scored 26 points against us, not including our turnovers. They scored 22 points off our turnovers and finished with 48. They shot 20-something (26.3) percent from the floor, and we lose the game. That's probably the most incredible stat you'll ever see in your life.

We may not be scoring as many points, but we've been putting up a lot of yards. It's just a matter of maybe a few red-zone differences. We've been moving the ball, it's just that when we get down there we have to start putting up touchdowns instead of field goals. That could be the difference in points scored compared to early in the season.

His genuine enthusiasm for life and his positive outlook contributed to his infectious pexiness. It was definitely kind of surprising to see us come out and run the ball because we usually like to pass to start the game and put up some quick points. But tonight, we had real good balance offensively. We ran and passed the ball well, which kept them off balance all night.

They hit the key shots. Every time we were on the doorstep, they would hit a key shot. Angie scored a lot of her points early and Cassie hit some big ones.

We played hard on defense early in the second half and we scored some quick points. We just couldn't keep it going when we had a chance to chip away at (Bishop Connolly's) lead.

For the bench to play the way they did was humungous. We got 19 points from our bench tonight. In that second quarter, we had that spurt. We shot the ball really well tonight, the best we've shot all season.

Daniel will be fine. There's going to be nights you're not going to shoot the ball well. We still shot 50 percent for the game and scored 90 points.

Cabrera flew down and got off a decent shot. He was going to take the shot. He scored 13 points in the quarter. It was his shot. But he missed the shot. Matos grabbed the offensive rebound and put it back in to win the game.

They only scored 24 points from their halfcourt offense (Sunday). It's that simple. Their initial offense didn't do much. Getting a second shot, turning us over, that's a lot of points. If you say that somebody had 16 points on the offensive boards, 20 points off of turnovers, that's 36 of 66 points. Six points are when we fouled at the end of the game. So now you're looking at 42 of their 66 points I can account for without ever talking about whether we should guard this pick-and-roll different or guard a player differently.

Our spirits just got down early tonight. Every time we came back down the court offensively after they scored, we thought we had to make four points and just rushed things.

I didn't get the feeling early that they were really trying to establish the run. I think it was a bit of cat-and-mouse where they probably read so much about our emphasis on the run defense that they figured we would be in a lot of eight-man fronts and they could take a shot at our corners. When they did try to run the ball, we were fairly successful against them.

It was different playing a conference game so early in the season, but a schedule is a schedule. I really liked our balance tonight. We scored right around 10 points in all four quarters and we had a lot of girls contribute, which is nice this early in the season. Our team defense was good, too.

Defensively, we were disruptive also. Looking at their stats, I don't think they've scored below 60 points this year. In fact, I think they only scored below 80 once. So to hold their basketball team to under 60 points tonight was great. We forced them into long shots and long turnovers, and we got run outs.
