The Sand Pebbles has gezegde

 The Sand Pebbles has always been one of my favorite films, I suppose because its the most difficult film - from a physical and logistical standpoint - that I've ever made.

 As far as film goes, I enjoy all Hollywood films and all Horror films like The Bride of Frankenstein, which also might be my favorite. I like 60's and 70's Italian and Spanish Horror films.

 I think of horror films as art, as films of confrontation. Films that make you confront aspects of your own life that are difficult to face. Just because you're making a horror film doesn't mean you can't make an artful film.

 I've often wondered if maybe I tried to tell too many stories in The Sand Pebbles.

 Some of the individuals in this film have burns that have left 80 percent of their body scarred and disfigured. It explores the physical and psychological impact conveyed in five different portraits. It is my hope that these films be made available to help people better understand the lives of the disabled.

 I don't know. I suppose I grew up wishing I was an American Jew for the comedy and the one-liners. 'The Sunshine Boys' is one of my favorite films And maybe a bit of liberation, knowing that if I said it in American people would know what I meant. So I was trying on my language skills.
