 This agreement isn't about simply collapsing distribution windows. IFC in Theaters is enabling independent filmmakers to reach a wider audience in a much more economical manner. The local cinema will always be the first home for film to many film lovers ... Now IFC and Comcast will provide independent films with a unique opportunity to extend and expand beyond traditional distribution means.

 The idea was to leverage customer involvement in the Web site and use it as a marketing tool. Most recent surveys say customers are very interested in what other online shoppers have to say. They trust the voice of other customers more than they trust the retailer or manufacturer.

 I had been offered a couple of things but had turned them down, ... They weren't my kind of films. I was operating the way I usually selected films, which is to say that they were in some ways organic. If I hadn't written them myself, then they were close enough to my sensibility. Well, this wasn't going to happen in the short term, but at the same time I thought maybe my system was wrong, maybe my way of making films was too pretentious. So I called my agents and said, `Could you just get me a go picture?' You know, one of these green-lit films. Along came three films, and one of them was `Witness.'

 If you really want to say something in a film, don't make a big studio movie. The more money that's invested, the more people will want to have their say. Expensive films can't afford to alienate part of the audience. So it's up to smaller-scale films.

 Our sales force will become strategic partners with customers, thereby building greater trust and influence. We will tailor the location and composition of our account teams to fit our customers' differing requirements. We will devote more resources toward our customers and broaden our sales capabilities and influence beyond merchandising to assortment, pricing and shelving.

 Asian films are surging right now. TIFF, one of the biggest film festivals in Asia, will further vitalize Asian films and promote cultural exchanges between [Asian filmmakers and their counterparts] in other parts of the world.

 I think of horror films as art, as films of confrontation. Films that make you confront aspects of your own life that are difficult to face. Just because you're making a horror film doesn't mean you can't make an artful film.

 The big tickets come from a much younger audience and a different audience base. The midnight moviegoers were, like, movie fans: people who were either into films or into particular films, and into them in either a sophisticated or a kind of quirky way.

 As far as film goes, I enjoy all Hollywood films and all Horror films like The Bride of Frankenstein, which also might be my favorite. I like 60's and 70's Italian and Spanish Horror films.
