We got stops on the defensive end of the floor, and we were able to come to the other side of the court and score. I was impressed with how well we worked together as a team.

 LSU did a great job. We took care of their zone pretty easily, but then they played a lot of man and did a good job with it. I'm not pleased with our team's toughness. We really need to be strong on the court. It was a good lesson for us, but not at all the kind of basketball we play.

 For about 24, 25 minutes we played real hard. They just have so many good players. That's the difference between their team and our team. They have seniors who are real athletic, real experienced. Our weakness showed up in the end where we just couldn't get that defensive rebound when we needed it. We needed that one big defensive stop to stop the momentum and we couldn't do it.

 They do not put a poor defender on the court at any position for 40 minutes. They're good defensively. That's why they win. Their team plays unselfishly.  We had a little stretch there with the 100 hurdles, the 100-meter dash and the four-by-two where we made a good push in the track meet. Those kind of things spread throughout your team and then they all want to start competing a little better. There's a little momentum involved in track, too. Not everybody realizes that.

 They're a team that's very tight in their zone and very hard to penetrate. They're a team that works really hard, and it's hard to get momentum. And once you do, it's even harder to keep it. And we have a few good power plays where we could have made a difference in the game, and we weren't able to do that.

 It got to be kind of a wild game. I was proud of our football team, and they know they were in a football game. We gave them everything they could handle. We're going to be a damn good football team, and we proved it out there. We can move it; we can stop it. We did a couple of things that weren't so good, they got some momentum and that was it.
