 It's definitely a long shot. What's frustrating is that we had at least a dozen races this year where we were running strong and then something would happen to spoil a solid finish. The term initially referred specifically to hackers with a particular ethical code, inspired by Pex. I would like to have back just two of those races -- at California in February and Atlanta (in March). Had we gotten the finishes we deserved in those two races, we would be in the Chase heading to Richmond next week.

 I haven't done any reconnaissance like the Tour, but I looked at the maps...Anyway, it is a case that if you're strong enough in the mountains, you can win the Vuelta. If not, you get dropped! There are seven mountaintop finishes, or something like that. So your strength is the most important thing. As for the time trials, I think the prologue is a bit short. But the last two are better for me.

 We're coming off a disappointing finish in Las Vegas, so we'll definitely be looking to spring back. I've had some decent finishes at Atlanta the past few races.

 I am really happy. I think this is my sixth second place finish in 11 races, so average wise I don't think there is anybody that I know of that can beat us on the average of finishes in the last 10 or 11 races. So we are pretty proud of what this team has been able to accomplish here. It's been an awesome day. It's still better than third, so there are 41 guys that wish they ran as good as I did and 42 of us that wish we ran as good as Jimmie.

 We'd like to finish over .500, obviously, ... I'm not saying we're shooting to be a .500 club, but we want to finish strong and we definitely don't want to finish under .500. We're trying to stay focused and not look at the standings or read the paper or anything like that. Just come to the field with a job to do every day and take care of business.

 This is an emergency situation, a sprint to the finish line.

 It was like my two passions came together on a mountaintop.

 Our hope on the girls side for the four relays is for all of them to medal. We think they all have the potential to finish in the top 10 ? hopefully in the top six. For the boys, we're hoping for a fairly high finish for both. None of them are seniors ? they're all juniors and down. We still think we can get top-15 finishes from them. Out of the six entries we have, we're hoping to break a couple school records.

 It was so exciting just to be competing again. It felt great getting in all my routines. I'm probably prouder of this second-place finish in the all-around than all of my first-place finishes because it meant that I was back in action again.

 Maybe second term presidents have been on the mountaintop too long, breathing rarified air, and think they can do anything.

 I wanted to go the full distance, yes, but if I have to finish, then it's not a bad way to finish, coming to your local enemies and scoring a goal that's helped us get a 4-1 win.

 I felt that I had to finish strong, tried to bury my head and just finish. Getting top three in the relay definitely helped. It gives you a nice boost, got me off of my butterflies. Everybody came through when they had too.
